I ended up in the back room of the KH today
by Nobleheart inour public talk and wt study is on saturdays.
i was informed by an elder that i shouldn't leave right away after the meeting.. immediately i had a sinking feeling in my stomach.
but not as bad as i would have felt about it months ago.

Thanks everyone for the support.
@flipper - Your personal experience with the elders is right on, they are programmed to do things a certain way. I really wish there was an easier, quieter way to leave, but I know that's impossible.
@ rebel8 - wow, I know i wouldn't be able to do that! But good for you for standing up to them. (it does mess with their heads)
@ lifeisgood - i'm impressed someone would speak up like you and have the mic being turned off. They call themselves Christian but their actions speak otherwise. Great comment: " Family members who love you more than they love these hypocritical liars will still love you, and those that reject you don't love you, so why worry about them?" I wish it were that simple, these people are no longer themselves...
@ shepherd - I agree fully with you. I don't think it's cool or I don't think that cheating about the hours is right at all.
When I first did it, I was just so angry and disappointed with the org that I didn't give it a second thought. I will not keep it up, since I'll disassociate in a short while. (btw When I signed up to pioneer I didn't do it to be in the spotlight - it was actually my dream career until the new system. But when I made that commitment I didn't even have 1/10 of the entire picture for the org).
I appreciate your honesty!
@ The Love Doctor - You must have been going through hard times coming down from pioneer and elder. I can also relate to your love for the brothers/sisters.
@ Pams girl - Thanks girl! I also wish you all the best You know I'm so glad you escaped in time.
@ Broken promises - lol. Thanks for the English-English translation. English isn't my 1st language but I got what Pams girl meant.

Have you ever had a prayer answered?
by nicolaou inprayer topics seem to be the bandwagon of the moment so i'm jumping on!
seriously, has anyone here asked for something specific in prayer and actually gotten what they asked for?
what convinces you that you wouldn't have got it in any case?

whereami I totally understand your point. I am aware of the many injustices being done, poverty, sickness and death. Why does God allow suffering? I always wondered about that.
That doesn't make me lose faith and have hope that God will set things right. An atheist could probably hypothesize I've got the "God gene"
I wish I and everyone had all the answers.

And yes, I have thanked my neighbor and expressed my appreciation toward her in many practical ways.

Nicolaou, I certainly don't live in paradise. It's not easy finding a job, especially for someone just out of uni. I simply answered your question, and that is how I view matters. My neighbor told me of this job opening the day after I prayed about it. Someone can call it coincidence, I choose to believe differently.
Many people (my family included) have seen facts, read and done research on the WT and yet they refuse to accept reality. I give credit to God for helping me understand matters.
I understand the way you see things and I respect that. I hope to receive the same in return.

@ Was New Boy - I'm happy you and your 2 children are out. Good for you!
@ Palmtree 67 & OTWO - Thanks for the good wishes. I also wish you all the best!
@ Outlaw - As usual, your posts are hilarious. Thanks for bringing a laughter to every reader here.
@ I quit - Fortunately I'm not a born in and never isolated myself from "worldlies" considering them as "bad association". I've got friends and relatives who support me. It's my immediate family I'm having a hard time with.
@ BluesBrother - Good point. They kind of touched on that. Pioneers not working as a single unit. What about preaching for 2 reasons: love of God and men? Unfortunately it's for the most part a show.
I'll keep you posted when I send in my DA letter and if I ever hear anything back.

Yes many times.
One really obvious one is the following: I had been looking for a job for around 5 months and I couldn't find anything that I liked doing. I prayed to God to please help me in this area. The very next day a neighbor of mine had heard of an opening for a school teacher. I had never heard of this school, never submitted a CV there. I met the principal in an informal setting and was granted the position without even an official job interview :-)
Also after I started having doubts and doing my research about the Watchtower, I was quite confused for some time. I even questioned whether God cared about me or humans in general. I prayed for him to help me understand whether this organization was indeed a fraud and also to lead me to truth. I've now come to the realization that the WT isn't God's organization. Also Jesus is the way to approach God and the real truth.

I'm in Europe so I'm just reading all the other replies. Thanks for everybody's comments.
@ Anony Mous - I can totally relate to your experience. Being in too deep to fade without any repercussions. I doubt I can make a difference with a 4-5 min talk. I had thought about giving letters to 3-4 close friends and hoping I plant some seeds. I intend to let people know I didn't get Df-ed but resigned on my own free will.
@ clarity - I know I wouldn't accomplish anything by attending a JC, so I figured letters would provide the same results. I agree that we gave up some of our rights when we signed up in this org.
@ White Dove - My family knows what I believe in now, and some are already shunning me completely, labelling me an apostate.
@ The oracle - Good for you for helping others out of the cult. Are those experiences found in this forum at all?
@ jamiebowers - I wish it was so easy. Our congo is quite hardcore and if I simply left, refused to meet or talk, that'd be considered brazen conduct. I didn't want any negative announcements or gossip, which is why I put up with it.
@ Lozhasleft - Thanks, I wish all the best for you too.
@ Clearpoison - So true! People at the hall have already commented on me going to graduate school. I told them I wanted to work in my field and have a better job position. Some remarked that my desire wasn't godly or in harmony with "where we are living in the stream of time." I can imagine them having a local needs on higher education after I leave.
