Intolerance Watchtower Style
by Marvin Shilmer inintolerance watchtower style .
today i uploaded a new article to my blog showing how watchtower betrays its bigotry.
as it turns out, watchtower has published an illustration showing bigotry, and the illustrated behavior is precisely how watchtower treats its own.

@ LITS - I just read this thread and your post # 1117 is absolutely powerful. It's so moving reading about the victim's powerlessness and the injustice of the system. It truly makes your blood boil. I'm sorry you lived through it.
@ A sphereisnotacircle - Really sorry to hear about your experience too!

My wife's Grandfather has 3-6 months to live.....His humorous outlook
by drewcoul inmy wife's 93 year old grandfather was just diagnosed with leukemia.
he and his wife go to a non denominational christian church.
when the doctor told him that he needed chemotherapy, he just said to the doctor, "i don't need any of that!

It's good your wife's grandfather has a positive outlook regarding death.
The JW's view is different in 2 ways imo: first they are in denial about death itself. Being exposed all their lives to 'Armaggedon being just around the corner', they're not emotionally prepared to deal with this reality of life. Commenting on dead loved ones they say "we always hoped to make it together to the new system".
Secondly because they focus so much on works, (what they've done, what they shouldn't have done), they wonder whether they'll be worthy of the resurrection.

by wonder*woman inthis is my very first post to this forum.
i am begging for some much needed encouragment and support by those who are kind hearted and know exactly the pain shunning causes.

Hello Wonder*woman,
First, Welcome to this forum!
I'm very sorry you are experiencing the pain and abuse associated with shunning, too. I can relate to it firsthand, and understand what you mean. It's a toxic situation and leaves us in need of so much support.
Which is why I think you've taken a positive first step. You'll find much non-judgmental support and encouragement here from fellow humans who've been ‘scared, lonely, and in a lot of pain’ and have been able to live past the emotionally destructive predicament into happy & productive lives.
I truly hope things get better with your family members as some posters have suggested from personal experiences.
I’m also looking forward to reading from you again.

I decided not to go to the IFB church I been attending
by andys ini have been going to an ifb baptist type church for about past 3 months, i started going in march and have decided to quit going, need advice on how to send them a letter i don't want to go anymore, its a soulwinning, king james onlyism type church, wow are they ever putting pressure on me to be in church every time the doors are open, i explain to them that i work alot of overtime, have my own home to take care of, also i have my ham radio hobby that i am involved in and also like to do volunteer type work, since i been missing alot of church every sunday i get a phone call from the pastor on why i wasn't in church, now i am to the point where i don't even answer my phone anymore when they call, but wow the pressure, its very irritating how legalistic church attendance for certain churches has gotten.. .
on the other hand i have decided that i still want to go to some sort of church, for a very short time in februiary i was going to a communicty type church where everyone is wearing something different, i noticed that alot of people wear blue jeans, even the pastor wears blue jeans, also its a non denominational type church that has alot of volunteer opportunities which i love doing, i have decided to go back to the non denomminational type church since i don't feel no pressure there.. .

Did you become a member? If so, leaving them behind is the best idea.
Why would you want to be burdened and controlled after the JW experience?
I'm sure you'll find another church that isn't legalistic and doesn't lay the guilt and pressure to do more & more on you.

Christian. I don't like other labels much, I think this one is enough.
