The article then goes on to make a very weak case involving the 'god of good luck' (There's also a god of the harvest you shouldn't pray too, does that mean farming is evil?)
It also uses the command that you shouldn't desire your fellowman's things to prove that you shouldn't gamble. Although I'm pretty sure that would include investing in stocks and bonds, doing ANY kind of business to get someones money or things. ETC.
Ignoring all those lousy arguments to prove their preconcieved notion that gambling is against the scriptures: They didn't mention gods good buddy Samson!

One would think this account would be worth mentioning in an article about the bible's view on gambling. But instead the writers pretend that the bible is completely silent on the matter (but give their rules anyway I might add).

Some people just have weaker sex drives than others.
I am an atheist and have no religious reasons not to have sex. But I'm celibate simply because I don't have much of a sex drive at ALL.
So it's not unimaginable to me for people to be celibate when under the threat of divine wrath, shunning and death. Since I'm celibate without those worries.
Maybe you are just at the other end of the bell curve and it's a lot harder for you to abstain than for most other people. And it's only hard for you to imagine because you think everyone else has urges as powerful as your own.

So sure, I don't care if we apologize, I think the survivors deserve an apology from the people who dropped the bomb and the japanese government who got them into that mess, but they're never gonna get the apology they deserve since the people responsible are all dead.
Same goes for Pearl Harbor, Admiral Yamamoto would be the one to apologize, but he died in 1943. . . Who the heck else would we expect an apology from?
This whole concept of expecting apologies from people who were not involved for things that happened 60 years ago is childish and stupid.
