  - how much i might be messing with your life and happiness by helping you see things the way i do.. i read the posts of many people on this board who are apparently happy, even deliriously happy, with their theism.

  Would your life implode if you lost your faith? Should athiests just back off and not try to mess up your good thing, if only to keep them from wasting their time?

  It's like those guys that say they can't imagine how atheists could be moral, because if they didn't believe in god they'd have nothing to hold them back and they'd just run around killing and raping people. . .

  If that's true, maybe I shouldn't try to convince them they're wrong.

  fans of battlestar galactica may know that those two words are used a lot in the series.. how did they get away with it when it so obviously just another word for f**k?.

  Because there's no rule against using substitute words.

  Red Dwarf made up 'Smeg' which they used in place of pretty much every other expletive.

  Recess made up the word 'whomp'. Which if I recall correctly, the kids in the school made it up, but then when the principle found out it was a fake curse word he tried to make them stop using it.

  Spongebob makes up a bunch of them. 'Halibut' in place of 'hell'. 'Barnacles' in place of various other words.

  Friendship is Magic uses 'hay' instead of 'hell'

  The whole idea of vulgar words is pretty silly when you give it any kind of thought.

  I don't know who the halibut shoud give a smeg about some frakking fake swear words when the whole fucking idea of 'offensive words' is a whomping load of barnacles.

  i got the convention update from my mom, who attended this past weekend.

  sounds like the society made the claim that immorality is escalating at a faster clip.

  Depends on how you define immorality.

  Darnit, that's what I was gonna say!

  If acceptance of sexual differences, other religions and other races is immoral. Then yeah immorality is escalating.

  But what some people think is evil, others view as good.

  i know we have had threads like this in the past, but technology marches on and maybe there are new things to use these days..

  You don't need phone and you don't need cable. You just need high-speed internet.

  This applies to EVERYONE on the fricken planet!

  You can replace cable with Netflix streaming video and torrents. Trust me it's WAY better. I wouldn't use cable anymore if it was FREE. Stinking ads every couple mins, stuff not on when you want to see it. It's crap.
  Netflix and the piratebay.org can eleminate ANY need you may have for Cable. Unless you're into sports. I'm not, so I never researched it, but I'm sure there are other options besides cable for watching live sports via internet.

  Phone is not needed. You can set up a skype account, get a cell phone, etc. I reccomend geting a tracfone, piling a bunch of minutes on it and using it as your home phone. I dunno how much you talk on the phone but there's definately an online service that's better than the crappy comcast bills. Buy a magicjack.

  That's an odd question.

  What do you mean in this question by 'Scientific perspective'? And how is that different from a scientific theory or a scientific hypothesis?

  There's the 'theory of gravity'.

  There's the 'agrin hypothesis'.

  But there's no scientific 'abiogenesis perspective'.

  You'll need to be a bit more specific.

  Talk about your unfulfilled campaign promises.

  A president runs for office and if he doesn't restore the economy in 4 years we kick him out and try a new guy.

  Jesus promises an end to sickness, poverty, death, sorrow and natural disasters. He's king for 97 years and doesn't do any of it. When do we get to elect a new guy? Monarchy sucks. . .

  That would make a nice flash animation project.

  It could just have a pool of 100 or so random phrases like those and keep playing them infinitely.

  It could have little timer at the bottom and occasionally tell you: "You've been waiting for 6 minutes, but that just means you're 6 minutes closer to the movie"

  i was just now thinking of this do they still play the piano at the kh or is that part out of there all together also, i have been learning that when you look at a word in the bible many words translated over to hebrew have a deeper meaning for example the word praise a person can just glance at the word and think praise, but there are many hebrew meanings behind the word praise and one of the meanings:.

  zamar-to touch the strings or parts of a musical instrument i.e.

  play upon it, to make music accompanied by the voice, to celebrate in song and music, give praise, sing forth praises, psalms.

  They don't play the piano, but they use the CD with ONLY piano music.

  Why on earth they use ONLY piano music when they have high-quality fully-orchestrated CDs is beyond me.
