If you still believe, do you go to church?
by ThinkerBelle inwhile i'm still finding my journey and figuring out what exactly i believe in, i'm curious to know if others on this board who do still believe in a god attend other churches and what drew you to them.
sorry if this topic has been brought up before, i tried to do a search, but didn't find what i was looking for.. having been born and raised in jwland, how easily do you give up those doctrines that have been so thoroughly engrained?
even sort of celebrating (more like acknowledging, no party) my son's birthday seemed so strange to me because i've never done that, but it felt good to see him smile about it.

I go to a 100 yr old church down the road 4 times a year......their pot roast dinner, their chicken barbecue, their pancake breakfast, and finally my favorite, their roast beef dinner. They are a little pricey, but well worth it. Just love it. -

big accident at Warwick construction site
by oppostate inthe wt society is fond of using the tilt-up method of construction where a network of rebar is made on the ground, concrete poured on it and allowed to cure, then the whole thing is tilted up and voila' you've got yourself a massive big-ass wall ready made.
these walls for several stories-high buildings are indeed massive and weighty so you need a heavy-duty crane to raise into position.. i just heard from an eye-witness ldc volunteer that while there a few weeks ago they had an enormous accident.
the crane tilted and crashed, the only one hurt was its operator.

The name of the main outside contractor on the Warwick build is Storm King Group. Company was formally owned by a brother under a different name but similar. I believe they are about done now. Storm King doesn't have cranes, so cranes on site were Watchtower and/or other subs. They probably had 10 or more cranes there at the same time. Cranes are the only heavy equipment requiring a license to operate (at least in NY). Crane operator is the man in charge, high % of any mishap he'll own. -

Top Dog Volunteer
by pontoon infrom the first bethel layoffs some time ago i began to wonder how does one volunteer layoff, fire another volunteer?
they're suppose to be the same, equal volunteers.
the volunteer that does the firing----where did his authority come from?

From the first Bethel layoffs some time ago I began to wonder how does one volunteer layoff, fire another volunteer? They're suppose to be the same, equal volunteers. The volunteer that does the firing----where did his authority come from??---another volunteer. The volunteer that is fired should just just pass his firing off to another volunteer, probably don't matter much which volunteer goes. Imagine how the fired volunteer feels when fired by the volunteer that volunteered with him at the same time. There must be layers of volunteers, temporary volunteers, ordinary volunteers, special volunteers, extra special volunteers, TOP DOG VOLUNTEER, (can never be fired). Many layers of bureaucracy in the Theocracy. -

Bad timing
by Saltheart Foamfollower ini haven't seen this mentioned anywhere yet.
in view of the cutbacks being announced, this weekends watchtower study is staggeringly badly timed - it's about how kingdom halls should be viewed, financed and maintained.
a footnote even mentions that the same principles apply to "assembly halls and other facilities that are used for pure worship".

Might be perfect timing. Sounds like study to guilt people into giving more, just a thought, haven't read a Wat in five years now -

So how long have they been doing Trolley work. If it is so effective why didn't GB or Jehovah or Service Dept start this wonderful form of witnessing sooner? If they started a year earlier they would have been able to add 2 or three more to the world wide number of witnesses.
