Hey Punk I can relate to your experience. Your wife is grasping at straws. She cant logically refute you so all she has to go on is emotion. Blind intensified emotion. Im lucky my wife is still great to me but she definitely has an emotional attachment to the borg. As a result she cant engage me in debate about these issues but still sticks to her beliefs. Love, fear and other feelings should be trumped by obvious and glaring facts. Unfortunately thats not the case with cult members

I just want you to know, Tater that youre a bastard. I say that out of friendly, jealousy of course. Those are great pics. I finaly got to see them on their Snakes and Arrows tour. It was every thing I imagined. Have you seen the doc that came out about a year ago about them? Theyre amazingly down to earth and level headed which is amazing considering their talent. Definetly tops on my list of musicans Id love to meet. My personal big musician moment was shaking Tom Wait's hand.

Is it biblically ok to have sex with your daughter or niece?
by Diest ini was hit by this topic after doing reaserch in the old testament.
there are eleven different sexual relationships that are directly condemed in the old testament.
strikingly your daugher and your niece are not listed.

I dont buy the Lot story. If the old man had the stamina to (excuse my frankness) blow his load twice in an evening, he coudnt have been that drunk. At least not so drunk he couldnt realize who he was having drunken dirty sex with. I think its a good case of biblical redaction.

What was the first thing you did...
by OneDayillBeFree inwhen you left the man-made organization currently known as the wtbts??.
and for those still "in" but mentally "out" what have you started doing thats against the silly, stupid and non-scriptural watchtower policy/law/rule??.
i know the question has been made before on another thread but i couldn't find it and also there's been quite some growth in new ones here to jwn, so just wanted to see if we could all share some lovely/funny/random experiences.

Cheers DOC! Very (sometimes regrettably) true.
Thanks NR! Always good to have encouragement from a fellow believer.

Anybody here remember Mickey Spillane ?
by smiddy ini was just thinking back to the time when i was a teenager , i would read a lot of novels, this was before i became a jehovah`s witness and i came across mickey spillanes novels ,mike hammer detective stories, which later became a tv series with darren mcgavin.
during the sixties i learned mickey spillane became a witness,as i understand it from a tract left under his door, and if i remember correctly he became a ministerial servant conducting the weekly book study.he had apparently stopped writing his sex /crime /booze,pulp fiction type of thing.. later on i saw, possibly the 80`s or 90`s that he had started writing again, with the same old formular, and apparently a new much younger wife.
can anybody fill in some details here ?.

David Splane was at our District Assembly a couple years ago and my dad told me that he was Mickey Spillane's brother, but, (in a sudden serious tone) he was dis-fellowshipped now.
I wasnt really aware of either of them at the time. My dad can be fucking retarded at times.
sorry for the salty language.
Good example of how JW rumors and myth can spread to simple minds easily.

But of course I need to buy food. Anyways, since I dont give a hebrew fart about religion and its painful routines, my weekends are quite interesting. They either consist of wholesome family gatherings where If I dont relinquish the dinner prayer to someone else I have the tricky task of praying without mentioning the mass murderering Jehoovers name and the Remoras known as the FDS. Then my next weekend will consist of being with my real friends which can often include either drinking, deprogamming, creativity, love, venting, occasional drug use and always amazing breakfasts. Or all of the above.
Now to my sunday ritual. I hate doing anything on sunday. I barely have the motivation to take the dog out for a crap. I do spend hours on the interweb tho. I love youtube, especially when my wife watches horrible t.v. shows. I love watching docs on religion, history, "conspiracy theory", illuminati, funnyordie, FoxNews and general retardation of humankind.
Ive come to the conclusion that we all have knowledge and experiences that influence our thinking and our lives, but really we might be fully aware of our existence and reality as much as my weener-dog is about his.
p.s. forgive any grammar mistakes. Ive been drinking
