Would Simon or another administrator please allow ElPiro some more posts?
I am quite interested in this topic. I have a question for Elpiro as well about a recent WT article, but please answer Yknot posts first.
Just to give El Piro some background about me: I am living in Europe and I was born-in and raised as a JW, baptised as a teenager and in my thirties. I was appointed MS in the early 20ies and had many parts on meetings, public talks and bookstudy conducting included. I was 1st disappointed in my local elders, but got over that, as I got confirmed that the problems they caused were actually just applying the Society's rules. I have quit being MS by moving congo and I am inactive, although I am still quite regular at meetings. My father is a long time elder and quit university due to 1975 being so close.
The issue I have is with paragraphs 1 & 8 of the Study article on page 21 of the 15/09/2010 Watchtower. Paragraph 1 reads:
"CHRISTENDOM’S churches have human leaders, such as the pope of Rome, the patriarchs and metropolitans of the Eastern Orthodox churches, and the heads of other religions. Jehovah’s Witnesses recognize no human as their leader. They are not disciples or followers of any man. ... The international congregation of anointed Christians and their “other sheep”companions want no leader other than the one Jehovah has given them. (John 10:16) They subscribe to Jesus’ statement: “Your Leader is one, the Christ.”—Matt. 23:10."
I fully agree with this paragraph. Christians should only recognize Jesus as their leader, no human.
Then in Par 8, last sentence, it reads: "The anointed and their other sheep companions recognize that by following the lead of the modern-day Governing Body, they are in fact following their Leader, Christ."
The governing body are humans, we know their names and faces. Gerrit Losch was a circuit overseer in Austria, just to mention one. Consequently JW witnesses as religion are following humans and not Jesus as leader, as they have written themselves.
My question is this: Do you feel it is right as a christian to follow the lead of these humans instead of Jesus, thereby clearly contradicting Matt 23:10?
i don't usually post regarding my personal relationship, but i need some help.. i've been married for 20+ years (married young, both of us raised as witnesses), and my wife and i have kids.
my wife feels like i've disappointed her, made a fool of her, and betrayed her when i stopped being a witness.
other than the witness-thing we seem to have a pretty good marriage, but she can't get over the fact that i'm never going to be a witness again.
My wife needed quite some months to wake up, and that caused a considerable amount of heat coming my direction. She also felt it as a direct threat to our marriage, as she also thought we would loose this common interest. Happily she did wake up over time, and our marriage improved as a consequence. And we still have the same common interest. If you can, try to stick it out.

They might be correct that it is not a typical JW behaviour, but it is not a unique event in the JW history. Remember the bethelite recently killed in a KH by another witness in Frankfurt, Germany. The Society admitted in a letter sent to all congos in Germany the killer was a baptized JW for 2 years . For those interested I have a scan of that letter. It is in German though.
in an effort to increase the praise and honor to jehovah and jesus christ at the time of the memorial, the governing body has arranged for a special period of increased activity during april 2011.
you will be pleased to learn that during april 2011, publishers who wish to serve as auxiliary pioneers may indicate on the application whether they will be working toward a 30-hour or 50-hour requirement for the month.
this is a special arrangement for the month of april 2011 only.
I can confirm Nobleheart. Same happened over here. The 30 hours in April is a worldwide arrangement. My wife and I exchanged some interesting looks during the meeting. Thank you yknot for your excellent post.
have you answered the knock on your door?.

Hi Inkie. I will think about it and wait for your next posts. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

embarrassed but hopeful and loving life!.

Hi Walk On, welcome here. Would you like to share the 8 questions you put to the elders, or at least some? I would like to prepare myself as well for the end of my fading.
for those interested in collecting the pdfs of the kingdom ministry for research purposes.. as is well known, the watchtower library cd-rom starts its coverage of kms in 1970. however, the kms from 1966 to 1969 show a bit more of the excitement relating to the prediction that 6,000 years of man's existence would run out in the year 1975.. the 1969 kingdom ministry (51 mb) can be downloaded here:.

the scans were done and shared by invetigator74.
Thank you very much!
i'm a ministerial servant for some years now, but reached to the conclusion that i must get out of jws as soon as possible.
i can no longer waste my time in field service, at the kh or doing menial jobs for the congregation.
for some months now my field report is with one digit at the hours section and with empty spaces in magazines, brochures and the others.
You will make your life easier if you make it look like you have given in to something like materialism. Quit Field service altogether, start to miss meetings. Make the pushing elders clear you are too busy working/studying. Give a no-show for assigned parts or call in one day i advance to cancel. If you quit Field service, your deletion will quickly follow. You could also consider moving congo and decline any offers for reappointment and be low on meeting attendance. If you want to avoid DF, be careful with whom you speak about your doubts and how you formulate it. People get DFed for this. Anyway, welcome here, cool you have woken up.
i can't believe the amount of new posters this board is getting.
it seems as if every day there are at least 2 to 3.. if you are a new poster, what made you decide to stop lurking and start posting?
how many of us are there that have joined in the last year?.
Dear Franklin Massey, thank you for your quick reply. I fully agree with you on this point. Too many have become colateral damage in the JC process. The sad story you related about this young friend of yours is not unique. May the Jesus grant you peace of mind and guide your well intended efforts.
