  So, I became very ill ... what did my loving brothers do?

  recently i have fallen ill with a serious case of chickenpox (shingles).

  three weeks down, high fevers, and the blisters attacked mostly my scalp and face, but then also my whole upper body.

  i looked horrid, truly like a mutant monster out of a nuclear disaster.

  When I was "studying" my two JW ladies showed me a pic of a young man, supposedly newly baptised, surrounded by smiling people in different national costumes, all welcoming him. They told me that if I progressed, I would never be alone again, with a loving family in every country. Nice pic, too bad about the reality!

  Surely, since "Theocratic Warfare" is unknown (Mr Toole) and the Bible clearly mandates obedience to secular authorities (Mr Toole and at least one elder), Mr O'Brien should face a JC over his blatant attempt to mislead the RC?

  Richard Ashe Court Deposition - " Let elders handle child abuse- don't talk about it "

  as some of you know i was given pdf files of much of the conti and lopez child abuse court cases and asked from a friend to peruse through it and post some excerpts on the board here that may have been missed or not addressed in the pbs newshour report or the abc news nightline report.

  so after going through this richard ashe testimony i feel i found something quite interesting that exposes the real attitudes of the wt society leaders towards child abuse and the attitudes wt leaders put into it's appointed men's minds as well.

  the viewpoint that richard ashe displays is repeated in elders throughout thousands of jw congregations on this planet.

  From Ashe's deposition:

  Richard Ashe continues in answering Zalkin, " But you try and help them ( child abuse victims ) to see that by talking about this with others indiscriminately , especially an allegation of child abuse that has not been proven or established by means of scriptural standard of evidence- may NOT be in the best interest of the person. .

  jwleaks beat me by pointing out the strawman introduced by the word "indiscriminately". Still I'd like to add the introduction of "scriptual standard of evidence" - which I gather is a euphemism for the two witness rule - would mean that no victim should speak out unless the abuse was observed. Doesn't leave a victim with any options except suffering in silence for the reputation of the organization.

  i've been dating a jw girl for about 4 years and we've recently had a lot of issues with the fact that her family doesn't like that i'm not a jw.

  i've been looking into the religion and am interested in it.

  but is it wrong to join just so i don't lose her?
