Someone of the "elite class" commented at the WT today that they were at a special talk with the zone overseer and he went on to say that recently David Splane of the GB said that "nowhere in the bible does it say that we can associate with relatives pertaining to neccesary family business." So you can expect that in the days ahead they will continue to tighten the screws on disfellowshipping!

Mr. Falcon Asks: Harrassed? Exiled? Lost your family? It's okay..... You're just dealing with IMPERFECT MEN.
by Mr. Falcon ini'm pretty sure everyone here has been "counseled" with this little gem.
"oh sure, that does seem impractical" or "yes, brother headup-hisass shouldn't have done that.......but you must remember that we are dealing with imperfect men.".
few responses insult your intelligence as much as the above statement does.

I had a conversation on this very subject with my sister in law. After detailing all the incongruence’s of the WT. She laid that line on me. So I asked her; if your husband constantly mentally abused you and he kept saying, “sorry honey but I am an imperfect man” how long would you put up with it? Or if he continued to have affairs behind your back (ie WTS affiliation with the UN as a NGO) and again he said, “sorry honey but I am an imperfect man”. I know you would never put up with that! If you wouldn’t put up with that excuse, what makes you so sure that Jehovah would? She was speechless!

MEMORIAL AT THE KINGDOM HALL OVERFLOWING WITH NEWCOMERS?
by steve2 inthis is a question for those brave souls who, for whatever reason, attended this year's memorial: .
who else was there?
was there any evidence that the witnesses are still attracting a large crowd of "newly interested ones" (to use their awful phrase) or even complete strangers drawn in by the door-to-door work.. i hear lots of comments about how poorly attended some of the weekly meetings in the halls have now become, so i'm curious about what you guys may have seen when you attended in the past day or so.

From Western Canada: Over 70 people have pioneered this month in our cong and I know the majority of them were doing their best to get all thirty hours in the "Invitation Work", easy service as they call it. I understand that well over 90% of our territory was covered and from all this effort...0 people showed up! That's right nada, zilch. A few bible studies but that was it. Our attendance was much, much lower than I have seen in years.

I found it very disturbing that in the Photo illustration of this greiving couple, it shows the son walking out the front door packed with his belongings. Very subtle how the GB encourages parents to turn their backs on their disfellowshipped children going as far as kicking them out of their home! Like a previous post stated earlier...PURE EVIL!!

July 15th WT out - Coming out Swinging at Apostates Hard
by LostGeneration inthis is one of the most aggressive watchtowers i think i have ever read.. four study articles on not "following the crowd" not following unrealities(page 13) not following false teachers, meaning apostates of course(p 15).
avoiding false teachers means "refusing to read their literature, watch tv programs that feature them, examine their web sites, or add comments to their blogs.
(para 7, pg 16).

OMG, this was a total 'Barf Fest'! I like how they put in the footnote their own opinion of an apostate and did not quote any scriptures to back up this claim. (page 15, par 5) Then that last article on upholding the shunning of your own son! It was utterly disgusting and pathetic. My blood is boiling and I feel nauseous...

Thanks Blondie; great post as always. I just wanted to add a comment to a point in Par 9
Most people prefer to go along with the crowd, so to speak, to avoid confrontation or conflict.
This describes JW's to a tee, especially when you talk about doctrine or inconsistencies in th WT doctrine and false prophecies. As one individual told me regarding the whimsical renderings of scripture from the GB, he said "I just don't question it". Talk about "going along with the (great) crowd of robots" and avoiding confrontation at all costs.
One other thing; the WT continues to use these ridiculous recycled experiences. I have heard this same experience for decades and some of the details change but it is the same damn one.

craziest reason elders wanted to have a commitee meeting with you
by glentrevette ini had a sister who was a tenant in my house and her car was leaking oil all over my newly paved driveway before she moved in i had a condition on the lease that said if her car leaked oil she couldnt park there and i told here after she moved in that she was being deceptive to me when she said her car didnt leak oil she was good friends with a lot of powerful elders in the hall and would you believe they asked to meet with me 3 elders in the back room of the library because they said i had called this sister a liar i got out of it only after i produced a copy of the lease and pictures of the oil mess if i hadnt of had pictures maybe i would of been dfd.

Stillin - If you met with three elders and not two, then for all intensive purposes-it WAS a judicial committee! I'm curious; when you met with the three of them did they at anytime state it was a judicial committee? If so the elders broke many protocols here in this case. First of all once the accusation was brought forth then it should be brought before the entire body. Then an investigative committee is formed consisting of two elders who would meet with you to get your side of the story and to ascertain the validity of the accusation. Then the investigative committee would report back to the body and they would decide if a judicial committee is warranted (the comments and findings of the investigative committee weigh heavily in this decision) and then assign three brothers to carry this out.
If this was indeed a judicial meeting and this is really bothering you, your options are; contact your COBE to determine why protocol was not followed and if he does nothing-call your C.O. Of course there is always the risk that this could backfire on you-it all depends how deep the corruption and favouritism goes. So be very cautious-you may want to “let sleeping dogs lie” and just move on.
This happened to a close friend of mine and he DID challenge the protocol and disfellowshipping decision. It was clearly a case of favouritism with the local body over something very trivial that was blown out of proportion. Not only did he not get disfellowshipped (very rare!); two of elders were reprimanded (not removed of course).

"Do NOT go beyond the things written (but we can)."
by TimothyT ini was doing some research yesterday on this scripture: 1 corinthians 4:6!.
"now, brothers, these things i have transferred so as to apply to myself and a?pollos for your good, that in our case you may learn the [rule]: do not go beyond the things that are written, in order that you may not be puffed up individually in favor of the one against the other.".
read this from the watchtower 2008, april 15th, page 7:.

It reminds me of the "Inquisition" as found in Ray Franz book, CoC where the elder told Ray, "the Watchtower is our authority". It is pretty sad when you can prove your position scripturally to an elder but if a WT article contradicts the scriptures they will lean towards the WT.
Very shameful!

3/15 WT " Do Not Deceive Yourself "- WT's Excuses for No Armageddon
by flipper inwith the new " overlap generation " theory that the wt society is pushing onto rank and file jehovah's witnesses since last year this article i found really heavy hitting in the jw version of the wt.
the wt society is leaking oil in that confidence is low among jw's in not really buying into the " generation overlap " theory as many younger jw's are exiting the organization.
so what better way to try reeling members back in by giving them an article entitled " do not deceive yourself with false reasoning " !

It is obvious that the "overlapping generations" that was introduced last year was a knee jerk reaction because the generation that will live to see the WT's prophesy is quickly dying off. It is evident that this most recent new-light has backfired on them. I have spoken to many people from the congregation on this subject and the overwhelming feeling is that this system is going to go on for some time. One couple expressed to me that "they have come to terms that they will probably grow old in this system of things". Due to the WT's own doing-people have definitely lost their sense of urgency. Don't be surprised to see articles like this surfacing more often that they used to-that is until they come up with the seventh explanation of the Generations!!

Great post "Lost Generation"
And with no exception as to age, Paul gave this reminder: "Each of us will render an account for himself to God."-Rom. 14:12. Both baptized and unbaptized worshippers are accountable to God.
That's great news! If we are accountable regardless if we are baptised are not, then why would you get baptised and risk getting DF'd???? At least you have the peace of mind that when your values and outlook changes from when you were a few years shy of a toddler when you got baptised, (yes you will change, it is a strange metamorphoses known as puberty) you will not be shunned and lose your family forever. These WT articles continually contradict themselves, I think since the old guard has died the new writing committee is extremely lazy!
