Too bad about the packers. Believe it or not, I really wanted them to win, but it was to be expected, after all, Dan Reeves, the coach of the Falcons, played for the Dallas Cowboys.

Nothing Hurts Like This
by JT injames: .
though i may, on more than a few occasions, have questioned whether or not i wanted to be one of jehovahs witnesses and i may at some point decide that i dont, i can assure you that i would never contact you again.
it is really unfortunate that you felt the need to post our email exchanges on jw.com because to be honest with you, i actually thought that you may have been sincerely interested in me as a person.

Farkels post,
Though I MAY, on more than a few occasions, have questioned whether or not I wanted to be one of Jehovahs Witnesses and I MAY at some point decide that I dont, I can assure you that I would never contact you again.
Translation: "I have no arguments and you pissed me off, so I will never talk to you again."
: It is really unfortunate that you felt the need to post our email exchanges on jw.com because to be honest with you, I actually thought that you may have been sincerely interested in me as a person.
Translation: "Your arguments are irrelevant because in my opinion, you are not interested in ME as a person. (Do you smell a red-herring here, James? )
: But the fact is, the only interest you have is your viewpoint, your opinion and yourself the same things for which you condemn the organization.
Translation: you are a selfish jerk because I cannot rebut your arguments.
: I am so glad that I did not provide you with any personal information about myself as you probably would have posted that on jw.com also.
Translation: since I can't address your arguments, I must conclude that you are out to destroy me and and my life and I'm grateful that I never told you enough to allow you to do that.
: I truly feel sorry for you.
Translation: Screw you, James, and my imaginery friend will KILL you because your DARED try to help me out!
Outnfrees' post2/ this poor woman has been made uncomfortable by your confirmation of her doubts, and is retreating from what her brain knows to be true until her emotions can deal with it. (I think we've all been there.) These two have hit the nail on the head !! In short you ain't the problem, she is, and the sooner you get that thru your head the better off you will be. Hopefully she will take a second look at what you are trying to tell her and have a change of heart. However, let's not hold our collective breaths until that happens. Though he hasnt said it LATELY, my JW husband would always say (whenever I was upset about something happening to me) "I dont know why you should be UPSET! YOU brought this in yourself! YOU left Jehovah!"
This post by LovesDubs really got my attention. Is her husband saying that bad things do not happen to JWs ? Is he saying witnesses don't get upset?? Does Jehovah protect them from all unpleasant situations ?? Anyone who has been around them for more than ten minutes, knows none of this is true.

I didn't think the Buckeyes had the chance of a snowflake in a blast furnace of beating Miami. Having said that, I'll bet you Ohio State Fans are really happy today that you don't have to play two out of three.

Now this developer (which I have nothing against progress) wants to put a road through there ! He states that the drivers will only go 15 mph.
You wanna bet !! The only way to insure drivers will go only 15 miles an hour is to have a full time policeman on patrol 24 hours a day. Also, there is a very good chance a drunk will veer of the street and plow thru the grave markers and really make a mess of things. Just my rantings. Bug

And don't forget, we have your kids".
This sums up in a nutshell the mindset of too many in this organization. A totally unfeeling bunch of cruel, abusive low lifes. Obviously not all in the organization fall under that description, but far too many are all of these things and more. I have known some elders since childhood and know them to be honest, kind men, but they are following the company line and ignoring their own built in kindness.
Dede, you have stated your and your sons story very well. Hopefully the comments from people such as, Ozzie, Guest 77 and Granny Linda will offer you some help and comfort. Bug

WT Scapegoat
by Xena inwaiting said something that caught my interest in another thread.
interestingly enough - bowen has offered the wtbts the possibility of an easy out, but which still would help the jw children, which would be the point?
"we didn't write it - that apostate franz wrote it!

I dream of a time when one of the big boys in that big commune in New York will say,"I was wrong, so I'm responsible." I know, that's not going to happen, but it would be the right thing for them to do. These guys have refined the art of blaming someone else, when the blame obviously rest squarly on their shoulders. His motives, he admits, is to stir up anti-war sentiment.
I suspected those were his (Mr Rangles') motives, but I didn't know he had admitted it. The new military seems to rely a lot more on fire power than when I was in back in the late fifties. Desert storm showed what this fire power can accomplish, remember the Iraqi soldiers surrendering after the 30 some days of bombing ?? Better the enemy come under that fire than allied soldiers. Bug
