  Something tells me though, if the dubs were in this same position, if they would do the same to the Russian orthodox church

  Without a doubt the wts would apply the same tactics as the clergy in Russia except they would, in my opinion, take stronger measures.

  Having said all of that, the clergy is not used to competition and are having troubling dealing with another group converting their faithful. So what punishment will they give the witnesses prison, torture, execution ?? Are they going to put children in jail ? Everyone, even the jw's should be free to practice their religion as they see fit, unless it impacts someone in a negative manner, for example, blood, shunning, child abuse ets. Then the state should take measures to stop the practice.

  Physical health problems due to all that witnessing work

  is anyone here convinced their physical health problems migth be due to all the walking they did going door to door for years?.

  i have some pretty severe foot problems right now.

  i think i have artritis in at least one knee and it has been diagnosed in my hands.

  And all the stress realted problems but I can't recall any physical health issues as a direct result of the witnessing work

  Lady Lee, I have no expertise in this area, but can't some physical problems be caused by stress, ulcers for example ?

  JW's Assisted Swiss Suicide Inquest Starts

  the inquest into the assisted suicide started yesterday in bedford, england.. this is how the story first broke in the uk's daily mirror:suicide tourists.

  apr 15 2003. .

  couple fly off to die.. but family think they are on holiday.

  We can discuss the implications of suicide until the cows come home, but a more pertint question would be why ??? Was their health the only issue ?? Those of us who frequent this board realize that even healthy people can become depressed from associating with JW's. Could it have been the lack of love and support in the local congregation and in their family circle that caused these folks to go off the deep end ?? There must be a lot more to this story. Bug

  Do you welcome change?

  do you welcome change or do you dread it?

  do your fears of change ever hinder you for pursuing things that could better your life?.

  the thought of big changes always scares me and i see myself avoiding things that would be a change even if it is possible that it will make my life better.

  Everyone is afraid of change, some more than others. In 1980 my boss sat me in front of a computer moniter and told me it might be in my best interests to learn to use the thing. Well at the age of forty something, believe it, that was not easy. Then they kept coming up with new programs which turned my little world upside down.

  So there is only one conclusion here, computer programers should be thrown in jail.

  i'm trying to develop a more positive attitude, so i'm trying to look for the good in everything, even the wts.

  i think jws are good for the economy because:.

  1. they spend money in tim hortons which provides employment for people and helps boost the economy.

  today is my birthday; i am 48 years old..... i am old enough to realize that patience really is a virtue.... and i am still young enough to apprieciate and enjoy the attributes of youth ( that i took so much for granted when i was a youth).

  i have now been a non jw for longer than i was a jw; i have no regrets.. frank

  I got a new office chair to sit in front of the computer, the old one was killing me. My son got me this, so children, even 35 plus children can be a blessing.

  i was soooo ready to just leave when she started witnessing to me, but..........that didn't happen.

  for those of you that remember the story a couple of weeks ago about my 4 year old daughter that declared us a witness free zone to her grandparents (my extremely devout parents!!!

  Exactly !!! This is the way we train our children, witnesses and non witnesses. The problem here is you are no longer a child and as an adult you are beyond her control, which is apparently driving your mom crazy. Bug
