for the most part using a wheelchair isn't so bad.
at least it helps me get out of the house.. but grrrrr.
public buildings are supposed to be accessible.. during the last week i have had to vote twice - last week for a new mayor and today for a new prime minister.. both sites were shown to be accessible.
They ought to make the people who decide these things try to negotiate this in a wheelchair and see just how inaccessible it can be.
They actually did this in Amarillo, Texas and some local politicians admitted it was very frustrating, to say the least. I'm surprised they kept their language G rated.
I took my elderly neighbor to the hospital to have some tests and pushed him up to one of the doors you described. I started around his wheel chair to open the thing but he put his cane against the panic bar and said push. I pushed and the door popped open. His words, "you would be surprised at what I can do with this cane." Bug

this ruddy bird has been driving me up the wall for ruddy days with it's ruddy call, at first i thought it liked me, thought it might want to mate with me or something.
every time i got close to it, it would put out it's feathers in this enormous and beautiful display.

With Elswheres beard, manner of dress etc. I'm surprised he got past the attendants in the parking lot. Plus he was toting recording equipment and obviously knows how to counter their arguments, well, you would think he would have been shot trying to get into the admin offices.
i got to talking this over with my wife and she said "why dont you plan an apostafest here", to which i replied "there arent many xjw's in this state and dallas was so appropriate a location due to all the local people that attended" anyway i got to thinking we could plan a 3 day apostafest here in east tennessee, and for those that would like we could make it a camping event with all the campgrounds in the great smoky mountains im sure we could find one suitable for most people.
besides the national park we also have dollywood and gatlinburg.
for those of you not familiar with my area, the great smoky mountains is the most visited national park with 9 million visitors annually and most of these people staying in pigeon forge or gatlinburg.
Dave, I sure wish we had the $$$ to come to east Tennessee again. Believe me it is worth the trip to see and experience all there is to see and do in that area. Hope you will be able to have this soon. Bug
