A bit of their medecine - The 2 Witness Rule
by Cappuccino OC inif we apply the wts rule of -2 eye witnesses needed- then that means .
that on friday, september the 27th, the wts's gb will be disfellowshiped.
i'm positive that many survivors of child abuse by jw's will be present.

When you stated you would be there on the 27th with a picture of your abused 3 year old sister, it hit me right in the pit of my stomach. You would think these clowns running the Borg would, at least, try to give some comfort to these Lambs. How can anyone be so uncaring? The more I read the angrier I become.

Talk about your basic "kangaroo court." My apologies to any real kangaroos out there, I doubt if they wish to be associated with that group of elders either.

3 minutes and it was over....
by LyinEyes inthis is just a side thought about us disassociating ourselves last nite, it took all of three minutes.. 35 years of my life being a jw, same for wild, 11 yrs of him being an elder and it all came down to two men of the phone to finalize our departure.. what i find strange about this, is that not once did they ask us to reconsider, or if we would think about it for a couple of days and then we could get back with them.
they didnt ask for one more shepherding call, they didnt say goodbye, they didnt say we would be missed.
they were so formal almost like robots with no feeling.

LyinEyes,
Your post makes me wonder if these Elders cared for you, or anyone else, in the first place. They are merely doing their jobs by "firing" anyone who does not toe the line. I've seen people fired from a business and there was more emotion shown than what you have described. It is really sad.

A little more info on the d/a and smoking.....
by LyinEyes inyeah, we know smoking is not good.
beleive it or not, i smoke about a 3 cig a week, if that, only when i go to the bar or out drinking.
i am about to even stop that , because my kids hate it so much.

Happy to hear that your smoking is very limited. However, I don't think anyone here is going to shun you for smoking. Believe it or not we have your best interests at heart. I smoked from the time I was 14 until I was about 34. Believe me, I won't smoke again because I don't want to have to quit again. That was pure hell!!

Do Jws help disfellowshipped ones or apostates?
by haujobbz in.
do you think that, if say you fell over and and seriously injured yourself in the street, would a jw you knew passing by help you knowing that you were disfellowshipped or so called apostate.
maybe even come to see you at home if you were unwell or depressed,i mean how many witnesses have assisted or helped you when you needed it mostly, you see i thought they were supposed to encourage you to become so called spiritually stronger.but saying that when you were active as a jw do you think you were helped in times of distress or illness by your fellow jw,for instance i know a woman who's still a witness but hasnt been to meetings for say a year and thats because she has severe athritis and guess what only 1 j-dub has wrote to her so to her it seems like if your not a regular at meeting you may as well be classed as disfellowshipped.

A person not performing up to expectations on his job would be fired and management would shed no tears or try to help that individual. The WTS is a publishing company that sells their material and tries to recruit new sales people so they can sell more books and magazines. Religion seems to be their favorite subject, but it is not the goal of the organization and those who do not perform up to their standards are "fired."

I spoke to Joe Anderson...
by Littlebit injoe anderson thought you'd like to know what caused him to be invited to attend a judicial hearing held in his honor.
fyi, joe sent a copy of his resignation letter to two governing body members, dan sydlik and jack barr, men who joe and barbara were quite friendly with.
he thought that since so much time had passed since barbara's appeal letter was given to the local elders and nothing was happening to bill bowen or barbara, that maybe these gb members were holding things up because of receiving his letter and giving more thought to the whole issue.

I've always had a problem with gritting my teeth, but since retirement the problem had disappeared until, I started reading this forum. Reading reports such as this on would make the calmest person living today a raving maniac. To df someone who has given 50 years to an organization over a technicallity is beyond belief. Well, the Andersons will have plenty of help and support from those of us who are considered apostate.
