The Phrase "Present Truth"
by twain30 ini am puzzled by the expression, "present truth" as used buy the wbts.
for example: "we must keep in step with present truth.
" now to me something is either true, partially true, or untrue.

When I left 20 years ago I was having big time problems with what was considered present truth as opposed to what was truth. Theses changes required a dub to immediately switch from one "truth" to another "truth." That was a stretch I just couldnt make.

Someone about to open a can of whoop ass
by LyinEyes inoh yeah , the can shall be opened very soon.. we were ratted on for smoking at the dance club a few weeks ago, the dub that did it told our elders and we just said to hell with it all, we don't beleive it is the "truth" anymore and want to disassociate ourselves.
we told the elders that smoking was not the problem, the borg was, the lies, the child abuse, the cover ups, the changes etc.
in fact i dont even smoke now.

by Monster inladies i know i shouldn't really hit on this because i have no real understanding of what you go through when you are raped.
i just want to try and understand some of what is going on.
let me ask this q. do you believe that the elders do not want to report the rapes or they are told they cannot report the rapes from the gb?

I confess, I really didnt understand the emotional turmoil of rape until the first time I read about homosexual rape in prison, then the realization set in, rape isnt bad, its terrible beyond belief. Any man that would do that to another person, is in need of surgery.

everthing is playing by ear right now for us.we are not sure about the children either so that is also a factor.
but we do plan on being there either for wednesday or saturday.

I suppose my wife and I are a couple of those that just faded away. Other than a couple of Elder visits (one of those shepparding callsinvolved the circuit overseer) I havent been bothered and no one has shunned me. On the other hand we have had very little association with our former brothers and sisters for over 20 years except for my brother (an elder and Pioneer) his wife and my Mother before she died. On the other hand we havent done anything such as that described by Little Toe on this thread. However, I am scheduled to to to the home of one Valis this coming weekend which probably could inspire another Elder visit.

also, my mom has been one for over 20 years.
i did attend several meetings with her, and prompty fell asleep each time.

Very well written Hubby. Certainly good to hear your wifes' mental condition has come around, she seems to be doing fine now. However, this is a great place for advice and support. Some of the folks on this forum are experts at helping people, such as your wife, cope with all she is now facing or will face in the future.
