LANDMARK DECISION - Vicki Boer vs Watchtower Society
by Uzzah inas most are aware, vicki boer has been long awaiting a decision to be handed down in a case she started against the society in canada.. the decision was handed down today.
as with any 55 page decision, it will take some time for the legal experts to hash it over and decipher what was said.
but, in a nutshell..... vicki won.

To win 5000 and be compelled to pay out 100,000 makes this a rather expensive victory. I can't help but believe that Vicki's lawyer knew the risks going into this and perhaps knows something the rest of us don't know, hopefully that the WTS will pay this tab. Congratulations vicki. Bug

We recently moved to another house, previously occupied by a witness relative and his wife. Before we moved I found a box full of old wt books which I thought we had tossed and when we got to the new house we found a bunch in the garage, among them the above mentioned childrens book. What a load of BS. The whole emphasis has always been on selling books and magazines and boy, was Rutherford good at it. I wonder how many gave up marriage and family in order to follow this false dream.
Does anyone have any idea what this book might be worth on ebay ? Don't really wish to sell it, instead I'll keep it to show anyone who pushes me to go back to the the dubs just how long they have been pushing the false premise of the end coming "soon". Couple this with some of the things that were published prior to 1975 and I think I can have some fun with these clowns. Bug

Euthanasia
by iiz2cool infirst of all, i don't really have an opinion on euthanasia one way or the other.
but since my mother has a terminal illness, i've been thinking more about it.
not for her, but for myself when the time comes.

One part of me says euthanasia would be good in some cases because my mother lived a horrible esistance for the last ten years of her life. However, there is another side to this, someone is sure to want to rush grannie off to the graveyard in order to get to her money sooner or, just because it is rather inconvient having her around. Just some random thoughts. Bug

House Name Required.
by Englishman ini want to give my house a name.
lot's of my neighbours have already done this, so we have a plethora of name boards springing up in my road.
(actually, i susupect it's a sort of snobbery so that people will know that it's not just another old house full of flats and bedsits but a privately owned whole house).

You have an interesting problem here Eman, so many names and you can only choose one. I vote for Little Witch, Dubno Moor. Subtle, but gets the message across. Bug

You didn't get outfished, Liz stomped a mudhole in you. If that had been a bar room brawl you would be in the hospital now.

So it has come to this?
by Valis ini understand many of you are not coming to green bay, or you are coming to green bay and doing something besides being at the party that xenawarrior has worked so hard to arrange for us.
i also know why and i must tell you i'm terribly disappointed.
the only chance in months to see many of you, yet this has no meaning whatsoever.

Guess it's a good thing I live some 350 miles from Dallas as I don't get involved in these "family feuds." Valis, my plans are to be there on time and sober, well on time anyway. Your point is well taken, XW has worked very hard at making this sucessful and has a real blowout planned. To fail to attend over some petty disagreement would be showing disrespect toward her. What we have here is too important to lose it over some small argument. Bug

We did it -- we're married now!!
by Gopher injune 20th marked a new beginning for me and yourschelbie.. we had a justice-of-the-peace wedding, with just a few family and friends on hand.
the judge did a marvelous job of capturing the essence of the meaning of marriage in just a few minutes.
(and we weren't reminded that serving a publishing company should be the #1 priority in life, lol.).
