Her music makes special sense when you know the JW stuff.
Funny, the line that jumped out at me was, "I'm not afraid of this new road I'm on." Hopefully none of us former dubs are afraid.
i just got a cd as a gift from a woman that was a jw.
i meet her when i spoke at the salvation army one time, she came up to me crying "i am d/f from the wt"" she said.
of course i congratulated her -much to her surprise.

pat robertson says he leg-pressed 2,000 pounds.
may 26, 6:35 pm (et).
Ok, If he lifted 2000 pounds at the age of 73 he should be able to lift one fourth of that (500 Lbs) at the age of 76. That would be impressive for a man of his age, so maybe he will set up a demonstration of his physical strength, but don't hold your breath. Bug
what were the main things that made you realise the wts is a fraudulent organisation the real aim of which is to conceal important truths from its members while cleverly manipulating them to work for its interests?
they have secrets that they do not reveal to the r&f.
for me it was the way the gb treated the other "anointed" as non entities in the org, it made me realise that they are power lusting self serving wolves with fred franz being the classic example.
think it was Farkel or GaryBuss (do you think I can find the thread?) who said, "It's a PUBLISHING COMPANY, people." After that, everything else made sense. I'd been trying to untangle the organization's doctrines to explain their behavior, impossible. They change their doctrines to suit.
Exactly !!! That was the straw that broke the camels back, as far as I was concerned. I've see elders and co's treat the r&f as if they were employees, exactly the same way some supervisors in the business world treats the employees under them. Bug
i was adopted into a jw family in southern california.
my birth mother gave me up after 6 months (the terms mom & dad refer to my adoptive/real parents).
she gave me up due to the fact that she already had a three year old boy, and back in the late sixties it was not as socially acceptable to be a single mother.
This may be the best first topics posted on any forum in my opinion.. Your memory and attention to details are outstanding. Sitting on pins and needles waiting for more of the same. Bug

i was given a cat whose name was "piti".
i found it strange, but i kept it.
My daughter brought a cat home shortly before she was due to go to college which aggrivated me to no end, so we named him D.A.C. (Dumb A** Cat)

Reminds me of a line from an old Willie Nelson song, "I never went to bed with an ugly woman, but I've sure woke up with a few."
this is actually something that fascinates me and i'd like your own opinions on the subject.
i list here things i feel are quintessentially english (with apologies to the scots, welsh and irish as they have their own uniqueness).. first of all, it's got to be a cup of tea (yes, i know it wasn't originally made here, but it has become an integral part of 'englishness').. cup of tea.

at work we are supposed to setup "goals" for a "performance review" later in the year.
i *hate* things like this because i don't understand what i'm supposed to put in the document.
it is far too subjective with no defined requirements that i can wrap my brain around.

when i showed my daughter a story of an old man who was df'd and shunned for asking questions about w.t.
doctrine, she said "he must have had a big sin".
so, this is what my daughter is being taught, that you have to have a "big sin" to be disfellowshipped and shunned.
No, I don't think I ever outright lied to anyone, but there were times when I didn't tell them everything I knew. Bug
