ren/debator the constant references to this fine work is probably bringing more publicity then ray could have possibly dreamed of, carry on plugging away..
Everything in the Crisis book is supported with actual scans of what the WT has printed. I can't wait to read it again!
ok i was raised in the "truth" but no one ever studied with me.
my parents were abusive and i got nothing from them or anyone in the "truth" no bible study any attention nothing from anyone.. i read the great teacher book to myself at the age of seven, and when i was in my mid teens i started studying on my own with no help from anyone nor any answers my questions expect to be rebuked if i asked the wrong question so i quit asking it was god's chosen religion after all who was i to question anything.
i conducted the sort of study and this elder looked at me and said where is your head covering.
Have any of you read 1 Corinthians 11:5? It does say when a woman prays or prophecies that she should have her head covered so this is something the org didn't invent did they? But then the verse continues if she doesn't want to have her head covered that she should have her hair shaved. Anyone ever do that?
i couldn't put it down!
very informative.
i agreed with it all.
I didn't even hear about the book until I came to this site. Most witnesses are unaware of it. They tell us not to go to apostate sites but most have no idea where they are.

Wait, Issac spent money on that? I didn't know that.
Is there one available in spanish? My mexican wife wants to read it.

I couldn't put it down! Very informative. I agreed with it all. Only one thing in my personal experience supercedes this a little. Disfellowshipping. In my time with the org I had wild sex on two different occasions, had two marriages not in the truth, did cocaine and pot etc. All of these I confessed to and both times I was only put on private reproof. I wasn't disfellowshipped. In my cases I never thought the Elders were dying to get rid of me. In both cases with two different congregations I did feel the love of trying to keep me in. So while disfellowshipping is absolutely a horrible thing, I think it's a last resort. At least in my dealings with it.
I hope Issac has other books in PDF format he can email to me.
i don't want to get graphic with this and get this thread locked, so please don't go overboard with answers.. i was having a discussion with someone about the jw experience, and was wondering if, since "jehovah" is an important part of the religion, during the moments of intense passion in a relationship, would you yell out, "oh, jehovah!
oh, jehovah!".
seriously, would a witness do that?.
This is a laugh out loud thread!
i remember i couldn't get involved with any christmas songs while in school but i could sing "let it snow let it snow let it snow" because technically it wasn't a real "christmas" song.. looking back, what silly things did you allow or not allow on the grounds of "conscience"?.
Loved the Ms.Saigon soundtrack. Would sing to my heart's content...Of course there is one cuss word in it and I used to turn down the volume and turn it right back up after it was said.

so if the practice of smoking is older than the bible, why wasn't it listed as a sin in the bible since jehovah's witnesses consider it a sin?
surely it was popular to do back then right?.
Hmm...Maybe one didn't read the entry....
