  social networks have their pros and cons, but overall i really enjoy them.

  it lets you peer into the window of the lives of people you care about that live too far away to have a regular relationship with.

  Your First Dealings with Apostates

  another thread sparked this memory but i didn't want to hijack.

  my first encounter with apostates was back at a district assembly around 1978. they were picketing outside peacefully with banners and such.

  no apostates below could see me but i could hear them.

  I was studying circa 93 when I was at work reading the Live Forever book and a woman brought a whole box of the stuff and said read the real truth about the witnesses. I read some of it and got scared. The apostates REALLY messed up one book though. I shared the book with my father who was a witness and he said let's test it. The apostates wrote a paragraph taking some liberties with the original material. We compared it with the real live forever book and saw that they took one line and fused it with another. We both thought ALL the literature was like that so I put it into my trunk. An Elder found out I had the stuff and I burned it in his fireplace a week later. If that certain apostate hadn't been dishonest I might've never gotten baptized in the first place. Thanks Jackass!

  Has anyone noticed that they are really pushing that Satan is after us and how much the world hates us.

  it seems like the january 15th wt and the march 15 wt are about satan attacking us.

  maybe it is because i am seeing things more clearly or maybe they are truly using it more.

  they are really getting into the fact that the world hates us a quote from the jan 15th wt on page 30 says "the world is basically hostile toward us.

  HAHA Sabastious! Yeah Satan must have a level system. First it goes off that he is attacking JWs when he waged war with the remaining ones when he was thrown out of heaven. Then a few years later he is REALLY stepping it up now...I have heard so many times through the years how he is REALLY stepping up now! So he must go on a level system. Like a military institution. Defcon 4...Oh OH! Satan is stepping up his attacks this year. Put us at S-Con 5.

  Is the WTBTS having cash flow problems?

  i was at a 2 day circuit assembly this weekend and i was surprised at how many times mention was made directly or indirectly reminding those in attendance (1,600) of the need to give $$$.

  even in the soliloquies or skits they seemed to work in the need to give $$$.. it made me wonder if the society is having 'cash flow' problems and hence is desparate for cash.

  over the years that i've attended conventions and assemblies the need to give $$$ has been subtle (imo), til now.

  If its a conscience matter then WHY when I brought back to GA pictures of my trip in New York the family I was staying with FREAKED out on me and demanded I put some photographs in my car and out of their house....

  What were the photographs of? I took photos of some of the churches in New York because I appreciated the architecture. The family acted like I had a demon for crying out loud!

  hi guys n girls.... i slipped under the jw radar just one year ago.

  i wasn't happy going to meetings as i always felt worthless and everything i did wasnt good enough.

  well having managed to miss a few meetings, i thought nothing of sneaking a look at apostate websites.

  I did the same thing. I ALMOST used my money to pioneer in 2007...The CO was very adamant about NOT buying a house because the end was close. My wife and I decided to buy one and make a restaurant out of it. It is now 2010. FUCK YOU CO! You were WRONG! I have a thriving business that provides security to my family. If I had followed your ridiculous advice I would be broke!

  I am sincere for sure. But I really miss the people back in the U.S. The Mexican ones can kiss my ass. Two people can affect me financially in the U.S. if I am DFed....Gotta hold on until I can clear that up.

  Well just to give a little update I haven't been back in a month. So I gave my kingston to a "brother" on the last meeting to charge it with his music. During that month he refuses to give it to me claiming his mother is sick etc. So I say he is holding it hostage as a joke. Anyway he gives it to the main man Elder. The Elder wants to meet with me about my decision to go to the spanish meetings instead of English. It's my way of fading. I will never attend again but they will THINK I'm in spanish...So I say I will see him at next Sunday's meeting to pick up the kingston. So my wife and I drop by the Elder's house tonight claiming we were in the neighborhood. I picked it up and he wishes me well. I get back home AFTER a month of not having the kingston and the "kindly" brother didn't charge ANYTHING on it. What a frickin liar!
