Yes but Tec, if they were wicked and chose Satan's side surely they would have taught their kids to worship Satan instead! I mean, God kicked them out of the garden to a life of hell. I just don't think if they were wicked as the society says that they would have taught their kids to love God.

No Need For EdenTree Unless God Knew An Angle was...
by Sayswho inno need for eden tree unless god knew an angle was...going to try and foil his purpose for other life forms.this has always not added up for me.
there is really no reason for the tree (s) unless god knew that he had angles that were already bad in their 'hearts'.
so the questions i have on this are.... were the angles tested to see if they would remain faithful?were humans created to be the test for the angles?was it was 'fair' to have spirit creatures (millions of years old?

But I go back again to Adam and Eve IF they were SO wicked and chose Satan then WHY did they teach their children about Jehovah so much that Abel became a servant the and the first faithful witness? Seems to me that that was there way of apologizing for what they did...Which God did not accept. I know I have done some pretty bad things in my life but I apologized to my earthly father and he always took me back. He would never throw me out.

Got "THE letter" ....how to proceed?
by 2pink inmy husband and i faded/mysteriously disappeared from meetings over a year ago.
we've had a few visits from elders (where we said very little but thanked them for their time), the last one being when we had some nice jack o lanterns sitting on our porch.
on saturday, we got letters cordially inviting us to our beheading, i mean, our judicial committee meeting.

I have gotten the same email....But that last paragraph isn't true. According to the WT society just being at the table isn't enough. That you SHOULD feel guilty for even sitting there, that your chair leg is broken that you chew with your mouth open... Criticism after criticism....You are not using the right fork etc. I WISH it were like that...Oh, just welcome to the table...But it's not. When you are at the table they have mucho rules for ya.

Begging for money at Bethel
by life is to short inthe thread about the circuit assembly accounts and where the money goes reminded me of one time when we were at bethel.. we were at bethel between 1991 to 1994, there had been some problem in another country and at morning worship they asked all of us bethelites to put in at least one dollar a person to send to the brothers in this problem country.. at the time my husband and i just did not have it.
we only got $90 a person so $180 a couple.
ok i know we had a free place to live but we still had to pay for car gas to the hall our car insurance, air conditioning, shampoo, clothes, etc.

I went for a temp assignment in 95. They put us out in the hot sun ALL day to grind badly poured concrete...to even it out. WHY they didn't do that as they were pouring I will never know! So I was drinking water all day long because of it. Some of the workers thought I wasn't doing my part because I took water breaks every 5 minutes. Then you had to RUN to lunch. NOT WALK...RUN! BUT...You had to have a frickin shower and change into meeting clothes first. I was praying for my two weeks to end. So when I got home the local congregation wanted to interview me...Except they FORGOT! It was at the last minute that they interviewed me and I said I hated it. The overseer got surprised...But then I answered then the next week it was ok. I was interviewed not with a microphone but standing up in a get together after being promised they would do it from the platform...So glad I didn't go back...
But before that experience Dad and I applied to Bethel. He had STUDIED with the best architect in the WORLD...Frank Lloyd Wright. That's right...My father was a student of the master. So he went up to Bethel and applied at the architecture office etc. The main architect at Bethel was so frickin jealous that they turned him down right there. My father had more qualifications in his pinky than the entire office and he couldn't get a job working for FREE for them. Dad brought his portfolio showing his masterpieces that he had designed etc. The YOUNG architects were amazed. It was like Elvis was in the building. The main jackass in charge though was trying to protect his fiefdom. Prick!

we've been doing that for about 4-5 months now and it's been an interesting experience, in fact it's been a major distraction from the hell of rebuilding our lives outside the religion and our base of friends.
