Glad you are out and safe LL, I feel it shows a great self confidence and strength of character to share your story like this. You would not be the only jw to have escaped this way. My mother stuck through many years of a loveless marriage to my non jw father waiting for biblical grounds for divorce. It would be interesting to research how many active jw are actually stuck like this.

Creationist Theme Park: "Ark Encounter"

kentucky governor unveils plans for creationist theme park complete with full-sized ark.
.. a joint project between beshear and answers in genesis -- a christian organization that also built a similar attraction, the creation museum -- the park will reportedly cost at least $150 million and create 900 jobs, according to the news release.. beshear's spokesperson kerri richardson declined to comment beyond what was in her office's news release on the project.. the amusement park, named ark encounter, will include all the modern recreation amenities, including: a full-sized wooden ark, a "walled city much like was found in ancient times, a replica of the tower of babel with exhibits, a first-century middle eastern village" and even outdoor parking.

The flood of noah, anyone looked at the physics of it?

The rote response to the physics of this seems to be what if the flood caused plate tectonics, the problem then would be why do mountains of the same sort of rock have different levels of erosion on them.

what sort of responses do people actually get when you write to brooklyn hq to query subjects like their quote mining and other dubious uses of sources.
i am currently having a bit of a 'discussion' on a popular nz mb with 3 or 4 current jw who are having a hard time accepting that the quotes from their latest pamphlets on evolution, among others are taken out of context, its got to the point where the only answer they are willing to give is to take it up with borg central.. if i actually physically mailed them a letter with a large portion of attached documents, would i get an actual response, photocopies of articles, or filed under wicked slave?.

Arguing with some on a 'popular NZ website' one made this post
agravated harassment is a felony and you have harrassed us on here needlessly because all your complaints and concerns should have been directed to the proper source,s, namely the WB&TS
They have only really just figured out after repeatedly being told, that calling non jw and a couple of escapees apostate isn't some sort of nasty insult. So now when criticising a source that is not wtbs they just call it a hate site, not an apostate hate site.
And yes that is a direct copypasta complete with their spelling and grammar.

Yes I can say the members I am communicating pretty much communicate in copypasta from the many jw websites. Anything that comes from wt is good, anything that comes from any outside source is from a 'hate site.'
