  some people recently raised concerns about security of the site relating to whether forum members could be watchtower plants trying to obtain information about people.

  apparently, this was because a previous forum that was setup was either owned by or later handed over to someone who used it to collect personal information about people which was then used to harrass them.

  i don't know all the details, i'm just paraphrasing what i've heard and recognize that it's a concern to some people.. i want to first of all put people's minds at rest: i've been running this site for what will be 13 years next month.

  The Ex Jehovah's Witness Recovery 3 Facebook group is being watched. We found that out last week when two elders showed up at someone's door telling her they knew she was participating on the group, as was her sister. They were looking to find a time to confront the second person as well. I guess we'll see what comes of it.

  This website is much safer and more secure because of its high level of anonymity. On Facebook it's a whole different world and with new people joining just about every day, the likelihood of there being JW spies is quite high. The general consensus is LET THEM! Who knows maybe they will even learn something, but it does make some people pretty nervous and some are using fake profiles out of fear.

  Hi there,

  A highly popular Facebook group 'Evidence of Harm By Religion' is willing to post a link to your petition but the administrator has asked that the spelling error be fixed before he shares it with the followers of the page. He said that he has posted many petitions before and if there are any spelling or grammatical errors his experience has been that people won't sign.

  The error is in the following text: 'when clergy are aware off it.' OFF should say OF.

  If you can fix that and then post here when the correction has been made, that would be great. Thank you.

  Even if this just turns out to be information we already have seen or have access to, it's still nice to have it all in one place.

  Most importantly, this raises awareness for the general public about the dark side of the Watchtower and that is huge publicity in itself.

  Bandontherun: The suggestion is to simply write a pleasant email to the editor thanking him for his coverage of the Penn State story and to ask him to consider doing something similar in regard to Candace Conti. NO mention or reference should be made to his personal beliefs. It was merely background information. Sorry for the confusion.

  The article is bashing Penn State for the exact same reasons the Watchtower is experiencing its' own difficulties in the Conti case.

  But before you do, please keep in mind that this was written by the editor of "The Vista Newspaper" in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee.... who also happens to be a third generation Jehovah's Witness and an up-and coming-elder by the name of Keith Walther. Adding to the hypocrisy, there is a 1/4 page article in the same newspaper promoting the "Safeguard your Heart" Convention.
  
  If you do decide to write, please keep your message polite and positive. The irony will speak for itself.
