WTWizard - "It could simply be 'brazen conduct'..."
The most useful DFing catch-all the WT Leadership has ever come up with.
yup - person has done nothing wrong.
but they have called a judicial and from what i can tell refusing to wear a facemask is bothering them more than the person not turning up.. so is this new light?
if you have been called to a judical please remember to stay safe and wear your personal protective equimpment.
WTWizard - "It could simply be 'brazen conduct'..."
The most useful DFing catch-all the WT Leadership has ever come up with.
well known norway elder and watchtower doctrine apologist, (rolf furuli) was disfellowshipped a few days ago for the crime of expressing opinions contrary to some watchtower dictates.. like wt leadership in the past, they have no problem eating their own..
slimboyfat - " I suspect, if they had maintained the traditional belief that the anointed class in general constitute the 'faithful slave', from the apostles until today, then it might not have become as attractive a target for criticism..."
This.
Word to the religiously wise...
...never let doctrine become dogma if there's a chance that evidence might disprove it.
Of course, that would have required caution based on long-term thinking and planning on the part of the WT Leadership, and from what we've seen, that's not really their jam.
one thing we were always taught in the past is how we should sit down and pray (kneel) to jehoober whenever we were at an event where they played the national anthem.
we had to actively disrespect the flag and anthem and be no part of the world, because we were our own country with jesus as king.. given kneeling/sitting for the national anthem is now the favorite pastime of the far-left and if you do so, you get associated with democrats, how do jehovah's witnesses now 'become no part of this world' when they have to disrespect the flag?.
All moot, IMO.
The real reason for defying displays of patriotism or nationalism was to visually stand out as contrarian and iconoclastic, and set up the rank-and-file as pious martyrs “suffering for righteousness’ sake”.

no collective regret or any acknowledgement that child sexual abuse had happened among jws..
What Diogenesister said.
At this point, the Org leadership doesn’t give a hairy blue fuck what “The World” thinks of them.
Every decision now...
...every decision...
...is made with the overarching goal of reinforcing the fiction that the WTS is “God’s Exclusive Earthly Organization”.
‘Cause without that, the Org is nothing.
There’s zero incentive to be a member, and by their own rhetoric, they wouldn’t even have a legitimate right to exist.
i notice that in the recent instructions for new regular pioneers (2020-08-s-236-e) it lists a number of assignments for which a pioneer can be credited (up to 75) hours in a month.. these include:construction oversight, assembly hall oversight, assembly oversight, and convention oversight, as well as serving as temporary volunteers at bethel, commuter bethelites, remote volunteers, bethel consultants, hospital liaison committee members, patient visitation group members, disaster relief committee members, local design/construction department field representatives and maintenance trainers, and so forth.
approved assignments also include assisting with kingdom hall construction when such is done at the request of the branch office or its representatives overseeing the project, assisting with pre and post-assembly or convention work, assisting with work at assembly halls, conducting or participating in congregation meetings held in prison, as well as attendance at a theocratic school or class .
when i was pioneering and doing pre and post-assembly work i was told i could include the time spent working in my monthly report, which i did.
All moot, IMO...
... the real reason for ministry record-keeping was to provide revenue services with detailed documentation of the D2D work, in order to still qualify for charitable-slash-tax-exempt status, without having to do actual, genuine charitable activities like soup kitchens or the like.
just curious of others thoughts.....while watching the latest round of convention videos with my pimi wife it was highlighted again in the content how much the wt org.
has always focused on the past (in my opinion).
many of the historical events that are highlighted as significant are from 100+ years ago in some cases.
IMO, the constant planning blunders the Org makes are specifically because the leadership are True Believers...
...they’re incapable of fully planning long-term because the Org’s core ideology simply doesn’t enable them to think that way.

Repeated - and embarrassing - court losses...
...the Org leadership must be very confused by now.
😏

@ wozza...
Yes, it deftly enables them to mitigate the problem without actually having to admit out loud that there’s a problem...
...not unlike transitioning to a trolley-and-park-table-oriented ministry enables them to deflect accusations that “pedophiles are knocking on your doors trying to recruit your kids”.
i have no love loss for the gb or religion and this is not an apologist attempt.
in fact i hate the religion and the gb.
but i watch night after night young kids who's minds have been corrupted by the propaganda and dogma that modern college's are teaching them.
Yeah, when I went to college (as an active JW, no less), I never saw any of the “sinful” stuff the WTS morally-panicked about.

Like I keep saying, the COVID crisis has given them the ideal pretext to transition to an e-religion... something more and more of us believe was on the Org’s to-do list.
Sure, there’ll still be in-person events from time to time, but the rank-and-file have now been primed for it in way that must seem almost God-sent to the WT leadership.
Further KH and AH sales should all but confirm it, IMO.
