i had no idea that the resistance, governance, and duplicity i am experiencing as a jehovah witness is actually part of a bigger behavioral issue that permeates the entire jehovah witness culture.. i was troubled by the fact that many persons who have been crushed by the unfair practices of jw leadership described themselves as former members of the jw cult, and, or, apostates.
the latter bothered me to a greater degree because i felt the word apostate has been overused by jw's leadership and members.
anyone who disagrees with anything the governing body does or says is assigned the label an apostate.
We can thank the Hare Krishnas for society's current (and difficult-to-shed) perception of a "cult".
The truth is, though, the vast majority don't go around wearing robes, chanting, and shaving their heads.

the next time i came she returned it to me saying it was discusting and not something kids should be reading.
i was shocked since i learnt to read using this book.

Seriously though, I once told my elder Dad that if anyone ever made a real true-to-the-text movie adaptation of the Bible, I could never let my kids watch it.
He was quite taken aback by that thought as it had clearly never occurred to him, but to his credit, he had to concede the truth of it.

i have a few jw relatives who are true believers.
by this i mean, they believe with all their heart that 1914 was the beginning of the last days, that this is the last generation, that we are in the very last of the last hour of this system of things, and that you should obey the governing body even if it does not make sense.
all of them are in their 60s and up into their 90s there is nothing you can say or show them to convince them or even cause a small doubt that the wt is not god organization.
Based on all available anecdotal evidence and the dumbass decisions the WT leadership makes, the only conclusion I can come to is that...
...they know it’s wrong...
...but believe it’s true...
...at the same time.
