Can you openly express doubts in the congregation these days?
by Elena ini know of a lovely old sister who has been a jw for several decades now who openly expresses doubts about jw interpretations.. she does it in such a lovely way and everyone loves her.
she is such a sweet old soul, makes everyone happy around her.. she has said things like- even if we have got it wrong about this and that i still believe the bible is gods word”.
she answers up regularly and she goes on ministry groups but like most of us she is definitely jwlite, we don’t really do door to door work anymore.

@ Elena…
For all intents and purposes? Yeah.
The way I see it, reading XJW stuff on the Net doesn’t turn you into an “apostate”.
It just helps you realize you already are one.

The Jehovah's Witness religion has ''Jumped the Shark''
by RULES & REGULATIONS inwhat does jump the shark mean?.
the phrase “jump the shark” is a term in pop culture that originated from the tv show “happy days” and is used to describe a decline in quality.
it refers to the moment when a tv show or other product has reached its peak and starts to decline in quality.

ElderBerry - “…it seems hardly any kids are even getting baptised these days…”
Ten bucks says that’s the result of PIMO parents subtly “discouraging” it.

So would you if your business model was dependent on it.

What you think consequences gonna be for watchtower if they lose the court appeal in Norway?
by Hellothere inpersonally i think they gonna realise god's not backing org.
that idea gonna get even more established in their minds.
i think the real selling of kingdom hall gonna start then.

They bought into their own internal hype that their court victories were evidence of God’s favor, rather than the result of hard work by shrewd lawyers…
…decades later, that can’t help but foster the idea that the Org is, for all intents and purposes, invincible and destined to prevail…
…an attitude that inevitably inspires misguided and increasingly catastrophic strategic blunders, such as picking fights they don’t actually have a hope of winning, and then scratching their heads as to YTF it’s happening (in addition to making them look shady, callous, and frankly, kinda stupid).
Not to mention that at this point, their business model’s become almost completely dependent on tax-exemption and/or subsidies, judging by the borderline-panicked reaction they display every time the possibility of losing ‘em raises its ugly head.

A simple rebuttal to the recent 'Last Minute Repentance' change.
by nicolaou infor decades, critics have pointed out the unfairness of god slaughtering billions in a future armageddon who never even met a jw much less heard their life-saving message.
(remember the contortions around the collective responsibility of nations?
) also, why do babies and children have to die simply because their parents rejected the witnesses?

2024 when will Witnesses admit they are wrong???
by Witness 007 in1914 generation is long gone.
1975 was a joke 40 years ago.
i know of many witnesses still hanging on for armagedon but when will they give up?

Oh FFS, how does that even work???

New light on shunning?
by Mikejw inone theory why tony was booted out was because he was a stickler for not changing the shunning doctrine.
he actually said the words we will never ever change it.. they are slowly deleting all of tony’s videos and now losing court cases and losing government hand outs in places like norway.. it’s looking very likely they will release new light on shunning policy after losing this latest one in norway.. .
what are the odds they coincidentally get new light from jehovah and lighten up their shunning policy ?.

Wanna bet PIMO parents are ever-so-subtly discouraging it?
Like I keep saying, never underestimate the power of passive resistance…
…or just how versatile it can be.

Why Do JW's Believe that Hell is Symbolic When the Disciples of the Apostles believed it Was Literal ?
by Sea Breeze inlooks like the early christians believed jesus when he warned about hell over 40 times.
why don't the jw's do the same?.
from “the epistle of barnabas” (70-130ad).

Sea Breeze - “Why do JWs believe that Hell is symbolic when the Disciples of the Apostles believed it was literal?”
If “Christendom” zigs, the Org wants to zag.
It’s practically baked into their ideological DNA at this point.

Nice analysis, D.
It’s not unlike the quandary faced between needing to appear more “mainstream” in order to stave off insolvency…
…yet doing so can’t help but water down everything about them that they held up as “proof” they alone had The Truth.
