"Messy compromises with reality"... that's good, I like that.
I recently read a very appropriate quote (in a work of fiction, no less), that's stuck in my head like almost nothing else...
…"ideological purity never survives contact with the enemy".

Don’t kid yourself.
There’s nothing “new” about the so-called “prosperity gospel”.
It’s been around for decades.

Seriously though...
...I think at this point, the Org no longer gives a hairy blue fuck about the “public eye”.
Discrediting XJWs in the eyes of the loyal rank-and-file, though?
Top priority.
And I suspect the vitriol and rhetoric is only gonna sound increasingly shrill (not to mention batshit crazy) in the near future.

Ostracism is a fundamentally cruel and punitive act in the extreme, and only someone who's actually experienced it can truly understand just how much.
Only the very worst types of people deserve it.
Definitely not someone who is simply unable to subscribe to an ideology anymore.

@ eyeuse2badub & Victor...
Tell me...
...would you still say that about religions that genuinely and fairly utilize the democratic process, embrace fiscal and policy transparency, foster authentic, positive community activism, and actually accept and respect the discoveries of history and science (no matter the implications)?
what were some of yours?
the big one in our hall was no frontal hugs!
these were generally thought of as inappropriate, only side hugs should be given between sisters and brothers.
Well, I was actually talking about normal young people "giving in" to normal sexuality.
(Not that the Org's repressive policies don't foster deviant behavior, because holy shit how could they not?)

in september 2019, the branch of jehovah’s witnesses and a number of kingdom halls in são paulo brazil were raided by the police, in search of documentary evidence of criminal activities relating to child sexual abuse.
the jehovah’s witnesses claim that the raid was unlawful.
