It's amazing how interesting a subject can be when not you're reading about it from a source that's automatically biased against it.
Looking back, realizing evolution had to be true - and more importantly, that creationists' (including the WTS's) efforts to refute it involved misdirection, semantic pretzel-twisting, and information presented out of context (not to mention ignoring inconvenient information)* - was probably my tipping point.
*Once again, for the newbies, lurkers, and trolls...
...if you have to cheat to defend your beliefs, your beliefs don't deserve to be defended.
