Would there, or would there not be, lawsuits if they took away the blood transfusion ban?
by VerdadTJ2 ini have heard or read, many times by many exjw's, that the org does not remove the blood transfusion ban because it would be crippled by the resulting lawsuits the minute that "new light" was made official.i am not a lawyer, but i would like to know what legal opinion lawyers have on that.on what legal basis would there be a lawsuit?
"i am suing the watchtower because my relative died because of a rule they had but no longer have"?am i missing something?.

Sometimes I think that if anyone wrote a book specifically focusing on the WTS’s decision-making history, the title would be…
…“What the F**k Were You Thinking?”

JE-sus making a comeback at the 2024 Convention
by dropoffyourkeylee inattended the friday sesson of the 2024 summer convention.. july 5, 2024 summer convention crowd photo; they invited quite a lot of empty chairs.. .
the facility usually has 5500-6500. they spun it saying that fewer congregations were assigned.
there were 6 of the smaller, more distant sections blocked off with tarps to lessen cleaning, which i understand.

Jeezus, I think those are even bigger empty patches than in the last batch of photos.
😳
You gotta wonder what’s going through the heads of loyalists when they see that firsthand.

NotFormer - “…they're now experiencing a warped version of the sunk cost fallacy…”
IMO, the sunk cost fallacy is already pretty warped. 🤨

“Now in courts you can just quote the scripture and tell that this practice of removing wrongdoers is directly mentioned in the Bible.”
Exactly.
The very same Bible with passages that condone genocide, the execution of children for sassing their parents, and the ownership of other human beings as property.
Simple, really.

“…if we notice a fellow Christian who shows such a disobedient spirit, we will make a personal decision not to associate with him…”
Not “you may”…
...“we will”.
“Personal decision”, my ass (not to mention the whole “we” thing, as if solidarity between the leadership and the rank-and-file were even possible at this point). Read between the lines, and there is virtually zero wiggle room.
These aren’t reforms…
…they’re just a slightly more creative way of reiterating the rules.

Stephane - “… I think the point here is that it won't be enforced by the elders…”
Yeah, right.
“Youse had best make a ‘personal decision’ to see tings our way… it’d be a shame if some udders might be compelled to make a similar ‘personal decision’ regarding youse.”
