Trying to handle my JW mom

my mom is a recent widow.

she, being a jw does not have means to support herself and does not seek higher education ( because that would take from her studies ).

so, she is living ( sponging off of ) me.

I was told by 2 different elders in 2 differant congergations. They cannot help my mom if she has family. Does not matter if they are a 1,000 miles away. Individuals can help if they want to, but the elders will not ask or try to make arrangements if the person has family. After being a JW for over 50 yrs, NO ONE in my moms con. could find the time to take her to the store, doctor, haircuts , or a home cooked meal. NOT ONE PERSON !!!!

It's all going to be on you. My ex MIL ( JW ) put her hubby ( not a JW ) in a nice Catholic assisted living place. It was like $550 a month, the nuns cleaned his appartment, washed his clothes, and cooked 3 meals a day. The food was great. Tell your mom, if she does not stop with her cult talk, when she is old enough (SS ) that is where she is going. That should shut her up !!! lol JW will do nothing for her

How do you react when you happen upon the name jehovah

whenever i here that name, maybe in conversation with someone who doesnt know my past, i feel anger welling up instantly inside me.. if there were a jw in sight, i think i could give him a jolly good shaking.. just hearing that name does things to me.. jesus = love.

jehovah = hate, selfishness, divisiveness, and domineering manipulation.. so much for jdubs "honoring " his name.

he's sure got a bad reputation based on how they live their lives..

It does not bother me if I am around a JW and they say the name. What makes me crazy, is when they have to say it in every sentence.

Over and over like a coo coo bird....lol They act like they will get a prize if they say it 1,000 times a day.

Do you go to Kroger/Publix/Wal Mart?

i usually shop for most things at wal mart but i have learned some things at publix and kroger are cheaper than wal mart.

if you are conscious shopper, tell me what things do you buy at each store to save some money!

i am thinking about being a member of bj, if you know of any good deals at bj, let me know too.

I love Wal-Mart I buy box wine , soda , bar soap, shampoo things like that. I shop at Aldi's alot great laundry detergent, paper plates, trash bags , food wrap and bags. Lots of good food too, Milk and butter.

Kroger and Meijer are great for sale items, so I always check weekly sales on line.

Why do people hate Wal- Mart ???? Well, maybe that's another topic.......lol

johnny the mysterious bethelite shows up on the six screens "late night with the twins" program april, 20, 2013. .

johnny claims to be an active bethelite and is serving as a "mole" (an insider divulging adverse information about the watchtower) and uses the six screens tele-network as a conduit to speak up.. .

if you are an active or former jehovah's witness listen in to johnny, you will be shocked... johnny says he was offered jw sisters by a governing body member in an attempt to quiet him..

Public Apology Nathan Natas

i'd like to offer a public apology to nathan natas for making a wrong decision when i deleted him.. i allowed a combination of previous issues we'd had and input from other forum members to bias my decision which lead me to what i now, in hindsight, believe to have been a mistake.. whether you want to come back and post here or not i wanted to at least say sorry and will reactivate your account..
