  I am sorry to hear what you have been wrestling with. I am trying to figure where you are as I have "aquaintances" that were JW Missionaries in the Falkland Islands, and if that is the same place that you are located. Maybe I am missing soemthing with the Location thing? nevermind on my part. (shaking my head)

  But anyway, I am sure this is a difficult struggle, but in time she will come around, especially if she wants to have a relationship with a precious grandchild.

  You can't make her come over to understand your reasoning, not now. But when she sees what a wonderful Mother you are, that the baby is beautiful, and that she can miss out on it's growth, my bet she will come around,

  I have 2 grandchildren myself and I think they have a way of changing ones life for the better,

  Take a deep breath, make it through the all the changes, have a beautiful baby (you will) and then give it some time. MY guess when the time is right to head to the hospital, she will be there for you, parents always do pull through at the most unexpected moments,

  She does love you, she just doesn't know how to show it yet, and she'll love that grandbaby like you WONT Believe! The letter she sent was an emotional " knee jerk" reaction. In a few years, she will apologize for sending to you.

  Advice needed please.

  i've been a lurker here for about a year and a half.

  i am a baptised jw(born-in).. i was a publisher in good standing until about last december when i stopped putting in fs time as well as attending meetings and conventions including this year's memorial.. i no longer believe in the teachings of the watchtower society.. about 3 weeks ago an elder and a ms from my cong came to ny house uninvited and told me they were just checking on me and wanted to find why i haven't been to the meetings for such a long time.

  they told me it was not an official visit, but sort of hinted to me that if i don't show up then i might be getting an official one soon.

  she stands up at the foot of her bed and wraps her arms around my neck.

  she then asks why i don't serve jehovah anymore.

  i was doing some research and stumbled upon the following two wikipedia articles, both of which (at first glance) appear to be mostly pro-watchtower.. take a look for yourself.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/persecution_of_jehovah%27s_witnesses.

  the persecution article seemingly attempts to portray jws as unfairly persecuted.

  there has got to be some kind of code word system to find out if someone you know is in "fade mode"!

  lol!!!

  what do you do when you suspect a jw is on the way out?...you may notice that they don't talk about meetings or service on social media...they don't even list jw as their religion.

  so here's the latest in my pathetic saga.

  i've tried to fly under the radar for the past year, but it isn't working so well.

  i've learned not to engage my wife in debates but rather to ask questions.

  Hey Bro,

  I am really with you - but like the great advice from Ynott and others, take it slow - and nurture the relationship with your kids, what else will you have?

  Your wife will have to come along after her eyes are opened- I am in the same boat, so to speak, I had to SLOW DOWN and it has worked in our marriage, i am taking my time.

  The kids, get involved with the PTA, school projects - and road trips. Develope their critical thinking so when they get to be Middle Schoolers they can start analyzing this CULT for themselves, - they will come to the same answers you have sooner than you think.

  Remember keep your friends close, and enemies CLOSER!
