Has God preserved His word today?

has god preserved his word today?

many people attack, doubt and fault god's word.

yet god has made several promises in his word.he promised to preserve his word unto every generation,he promised that every word would be truth,he promised that we can rely and depend on his every word.satan wants nothing more than to dismiss, and cast doubt on god's word... so the question today is... do we have god's preserved word today?

What word are you referring to?

The book of Mormon? The Koran? The Catholic bible? The Protestant bible? The Ethiopian canon?

If God preserved his word, why is there no concrete way of knowing which canon is the correct one? Why aren't any "originals" in existence? Why are the oldest manuscripts from the 4th century (Sinaitic and Vatican) and yet even those differ from each other?

Even the Watchtower admits (albeit indirectly)that the bible is not trustworthy or free from error as they have made changes to passages such as :

John 7:53-8:11;

Mark 16: 9-till end of chap.

1 John 5:7,

John 1:1;

Hebrews 1:6 and many others.

"God" hasn't been able to produce a book free from errors, spurious passages, and not even a clear canon to believe in. God wasn't able to protect his word from errors and contamination. This speaks volumes about god's interest in humans to be saved and to be known by him.

Religion was invented for people who cannot accept the fact that we are alone in the universe and refuse to accept that we will someday return to inexistence.

Humans only survive for 3-5 days without water...

and yet today's watchtower and indeed the bible condemns the israelites for moaning about having no water!

it's never occurred to me how unjust this is!

and how could a so called loving god not provide a basic human need?!.

The old testament God sure likes to play games with his human worshippers. He likes to torture them physically and psychologically.

* He places a forbidden tree in eden to see if they love him. When they eat the red juicy apple, all hell breaks loose.

* All descendants from the first couple are cursed to die because mommy and daddy ate a juicy red apple.

* Women are cursed to be in submission to their husbands and are to feel intense pain when giving birth.

* He asks Abraham to kill his son to see if he loves him.

* He orders the killing of nations that worship foreign gods. How is that their fault? He chose the Israelites and not other nations so how are they deserving of genocide?

* He orders the kidnapping and rape of virgins (Deut chaps 20-22).

These examples are the tip of the iceberg.

The OT God is comparable to abusive father who doesn't allow his kids to give their opinion and who beats the s**t out of them for not obeying his abusive, inhumane request and for daring to think for themselves. All human rights and dignity are denied to those in his household. The Watchtower Corporation has mirrored that same mentality on its members.

The law is the only thing stopping the Watchtower from directly executing those who don't obey them and question their authority.

Granted this God of the OT is a product of imagination and thank goodness he doesn't exist. The NT God (Jesus) is the Polar opposite of the latter. Too bad never existed as well.

Anybody here still believe in the bible?

i'm a current bible student of jw's looking to chat with someone about biblical doctrine.

i'm not interested in talking with an apostate or a fader, i'm just a person looking for answers and wondered if there are any neutral voices in this forum who have good insights into the bible.

i currently talk with a couple of jw's on a personal level from my congregation and they are knowledgeable to a certain extent, but i dare not ask them certain questions because, as you know, the congregation has a culture of fear that impacts trust and openness, especially concerning biblical doctrine or the societies teachings.

Just the first 3 chapters of the bible are enough to convince anyone that cares about evidence and truth if it's trustworthy or not.

Chapters 1 & 2 contradict each other in the order of creation.

Chapter 3 has a talking snake that is told to eat dust and a loving God who has to test his children by having a forbidden tree.

It's no wonder why strong faith is necessary to believe in this book.

The rest of the bible is even worst as God approves of hate, murder, genocide, kidnapping girls, rape, incest, blessing adultery, lying.......it's worst than a rated R movie.

JWs and Guns.

i was told shooting guns and collecting them was not something a jw should do.

when i lived way up north us it was more of a deer hunting group and so some guns were ok, when i moved to florida it was different.

most people in the hall were not hunters.

Since the governing body does not allow privileges or consider a JW as an example if he has a gun, then if a JW with privileges is getting assaulted or sees his wife and children getting raped it's also hypocritical to call the police as they will arrive with a gun and they will use it if necessary to protect the victim.

What would this JW that is calling the police say or think if the police were to tell him "you know what, we will arrive however, we will leave our guns in the police station as you are a JW and you do not believe in carrying guns for self-defense. We will kindly ask the rapist and murderer to stop stabbing you and raping your children and we will hope for the best and pray to your God since he will always protect you as your governing body says he will".

If that were to happen, there would be a serious lawsuit against the police for dereliction of Duty. However nothing would happen to the governing body because of their policy.

The watchtowers policy on guns is just one of many contradictory, arbitrary, man-made, ridiculous & dangerous policies that they have.

I read somewhere in his blog where he had a heart attack in the United States while visiting to give the memorial talk. He brags about the fact that the society never had to pay a dime for his expensive surgery but the hospital and taxpayers picked up the bill. I feel that is fraud and it should be reported that he is an agent of the Watchtower Corporation and they must reimburse the hospital for his operation.

This JW delusional drone, is a missionary graduated from Gilead And serving in Panama Central America. This means he's an agent of the Watchtower Corporation and they should take care of all his medical expenses instead of hard-working us taxpayers.

I completely agree with you Fulano. Here in the U.S. we are getting immigrants applying for asylum. Once they get approved they receive food stamps, free housing, free healthcare while the veterans who fought for our freedom suffer bad conditions even poverty.

Obama created this problem by approving DACA and now tens of thousands of illegal children come unaccompanied because Barak Hussein sent them the memo that they will be accepted here even though that means draining our resources.

To those who oppose strict immigration laws, how would you feel if people showed up uninvited to your house, ate all your family's food, took your money, your clothes, used your utilities, took your car and now you and your family can't pay the bills and your children go hungry and can't receive medical treatment. As if that's not enough, they refuse to work to help pay bills and show disrespect toward your house rules.

Many say we need to show compassion, however who shows compassion to the USA? Why not think of the resources that are being taken away from the citizens and their children? We have serious problems with gun violence, opioid addiction, national debt, African American crime, violence against police, Flint water crisis, Chicago war zone, etc etc. Let's fix our problems first before we allow illegal immigrants to bring us theirs.

Trump needs to build that wall. That promise is what got him elected in the first place.

Ted Jaracs was demoted from being the branch overseer in Australia. He was sent back to the U.S. to serve as District Overseer. One woman named Pat Garza accused Theodore Jaracs of molesting her while He was a traveling overseer. She also said he (Jaracs) abused other children besides her. She made these accusations during the Silent Lambs protest outside of the Brooklyn headquarters. By hearing her make these accusations, she gave no specific dates, locations or names of the other victims. It's for these reasons that her allegations have been ignored even in the ex JW community.

yelm is where two kingdom halls where set on fire about a month ago.

Hope no one got hurt. There's a big difference with exposing corrupt cult leaders and resorting to physical violence.

This could only reinforce the cult mindset that they are being persecuted and thus are in the right.
