it always bothers me that the society boasts unity, as jehovah's witnesses don't have other branches and groups stemming from them, like the amish for example.
the wts is justified to brag unity of belief; to the point where the same program is taught in the whole world.. i blame those who leave and yet continue to believe in jehovah and jesus (i'm an atheist).
it seems a schism is above those who dissent from the org.
Who would have the financial resources to start a new spin off of jw's?
Better question, who could sort through all their wrong teachings and decide which stays and which goes?
Once your eyes are opened to all their lies and distortions, it just makes more sense to forget the whole thing.
when you left, did you feel the need to start your life over?
how did you go about reconciling who you were with how you feel now?.
better yet, for those born/raised in, how did that transition affect you and are you ok with who you used to be?.
I made the transition one step at a time. Don't go crazy...just do what you are comfortable doing. We have to learn to lighten up and to accept that there are many wonderful loving people on the outside.
I feel angry still about the years wasted, serving a publishing house. I don't know that I will ever get over it. I could kick myself for being so stupid, staying in the cult and raising my child that way.
remember early 1990 when they made a sudden change to voluntary donations.to protect their assets.
this(new light is a) sudden change when as recently as of jan.2012 wt.they said "in the parable,jesus indicated that from the first century onward,there would always be some geniune anointed christians on the earth.
a post here indicated all gb members said"they research,read,reread.prey,etc, before they publish an article.
That decision regarding voluntary donations was because of the jimmy swaggert lawsuit. The government was going to be able to tax us if we asked a certain price for the literature. They escaped by going to voluntary donations. More details can be found by searching this site.
all of these threads about the 'new light' regarding the fds has got me wondering.
as ex-jws, we've trained ourselves to notice such things.
we tend to treat them as if they're of great significance, even convey a certain level of optimism that it will actually wake some up, make some think, even lead to some sort of mass revolution within the ranks.. do rank-and-file jws really see any significance, or is it just wishful thinking?
I do believe it will help awaken some. As you scroll through the posts concerning what helped you leave the organization, you see all kinds of people who left over the changes. For me it was the cumulative changes, one thing after another. Some witnesses actually grabbed at the new literature, searching for new light and had a superior attitude toward those that didn't keep up with all the "new" information from "the slave."
I thought it was January 2013' but I may be wrong.

jehovah's witnesses are confused regarding the present "times and seasons", more brothers and sisters are resigning themselves to the fact, that they will probably die before jesus christ returns.
men and women are realizing things don't make sense, yet they continue to put their heads down and remain loyal to "men", not jehovah god.

now that the "faithful & discreet slave class" has become essentially the governing body since 1919, almost every publication is obsolete and useless!
(i know, they are useless)..... the fds doctrine is a core teaching unique to jehovah's witnesses and now i believe they will have to change all of their understandings that are recorded in the revelation climax book, ezekiel books---every prophetic book written by the society!.
All watchtower literature should be thrown I the trash anyway.

I have a very good looking four year old grandson, blond and blue eyed. I am so worried he is going to be victimized by one of the "brothers."
I have told my daughter about my concerns with child molesters in the congregation and this will help. If this book saves one little kid, it will be worth a million times the sale price.
