guys, i have faded about a 1 month ago...now 1 elder, who i consider a friend as a person and like a father is texting me.... i don't hate the guy, i consider him my friend even though i don't believe what he believes...he's telling me he hasnt seen me at the meetings and he's worried...he asked me if i could go in service with him this weekend...i have not responded, i dont know what to say since i don't want to go through no judicial committee or something like that...nobody there knows i know ttabtt...any suggestions on how i should respond?.

over 2 years ago, my daughter was diagnosed with end stage congestive heart failure.
she has come so far.... and even rides her bike 5 to 6 miles per day now.

what's the word on the street?.
When I told my 34 year old born in JW daughter, she was shocked ,her jaw dropped. She said sharply, "Where did you here that." It was early October and the only source I had at the moment was the internet. I told her the truth, that I saw comment about it from people who were at the Annual Meeting on Reddit, the internet's internet, and that people were up in arms about it. She dropped the subject. We have agreed to not discuss anything JW anymore because it is so upsetting to her. If I bring it up, she says she will no longer allow me to visit her.
on another thread band on the run mentioned the jw habit of changing the channel on tv abruptly whenever something spiritually reprehensible might pop up.. recently, when i was visiting a family member, they changed the channel from sumo wrestling so that we would not see such obscene nudity.. of course, as soon as i left the room the channel would switch back.
id come in and it would switch again.
this made for a semi entertaining game of seeing how close i could get before the channel changed.
We were counseled time and time again about the dangers of watching "worldly entertainment." Some people reported that they would just fast forward through the "bad scenes." The speaker would say don't do that, don't watch it at all. Everybody watched the movies anyway, so what good did it do?

according to the article u.s. payroll tax hike seen hurting charitable giving: survey, 1 in 5 people in the survey said that they would reduce their charitable giving because of the tax increase.
if jws do not have well paying jobs, it would make sense that jws working for a paycheck will have less disposable income to give to the wtbts.. how do you feel the wtbts might respond to less revenue?
I would not be able to give 10% of my wages...no way, even if I wanted to. Then the added expense of having to have a suitable care for field service and all the gas, driving on return visits and rural territories. No f...ing way. It's bad enough you have to have an extra wardrobe, dress clothes plus your work clothes. Dresses and suits are expensive. Then there is hospitality and lunches for pioneer school, circuit overseers,etc. Travel expenses to and from assemblies. I am so glad I'm out. I don't know how I ever afforded that JW lifestyle.

just wondering if your name describes what you saw, how you were treated when you were "in" or now "out", maybe your personality, ect.... i'm label licker and the why i picked this name was because of all the licking up one side of elders and down the other to either be an elder or ministerial servant.
one time i was standing right in front of this brother who wasn't made an ms yet and he totally ignored me and talked right over my head speaking really loud trying to catch the co's attention.. got sick of watching the poor elderly sitting all alone or standing against the wall like a wall flower with noone to talk to and yet all these label lickers would take turns picking up the elders elderly parents and take them shopping and do their groceries at least four times a week while out in service, yet, there was noone there to take a meal to a sister who just got out of the hospital with a heart attack.
when i had shown up at her apartment with a meal she asked if i could wash her private and change her bandages.
When I first got here I had just left the organisation, searching for answers as to why and where. I just had to ask myself the rhetorical question, "whathappened."
