Thoughts on the new AAWA video and other things!!
by iamwhoiam inso does this mean aawa is going to stop shunning?
are they themselves not guilty of shunning those who shun?
shunning can never be stopped no matter how bad you want it to.

I subscribe to jw survey email and just saw the video that they posted on YouTube. I was impressed. The wording is very impressive and whoever made the video did a very impressive job.
We are all in the same boat. We need to mend this rift. United we stand against the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. They are the enemy, not our fellow ex jw's. Can we all co exist peacefully? How about supporting one another? Maybe they can't bring change to this evil organization, but they can call attention to the crazy cultish practices.
Simon, Cedars, Lady Lee and the rest are all wonderful people who have helped so many people. Kudos to all of them!

Disgusted with JW Funeral Today!
by time2keepmoving inmy son grew up with one of the young brothers in the kingdom and after graduation both him and my son left the kh.
the young man who left the hall fell into the wrong crowd and i mean a really dangerous crowd and as a result of him getting involved in illegal activity he was murdered.
i really feel for this young man, because he was a decent kid.

How sad. I wonder what this young man's life would have been if he were allowed to grow up in a normal family and not in a cult. It may have been different. He may have been encouraged to play sports or join the school band and would have made better friends. He's gone now.

Ok EVERYONE- want to know who is going to be reading this website and others?
by Newly Enlightened inwhile everyone has been bickering back and forth, i decided to do something positive to move forward.
as most of you know back in jan our family marked us as apostates and started shunning us.. so i wrote to all of my congress-people and told them what is going on with the jw's.
i told them how they are breaking up families, teaching the children intolerance, etc.

WT SHUNNING POLICY: What has it done, or could it do to you?
by flipper inhi y'all, this is mrs. flipper.
please share your experiences with this, or possible consequences of being outed.. this recent controversy and resulting arguments all stem from people being outed - possibly losing friends and family because most jw's will blindly follow the watchtower's rules to shun them.. among people i know and experiences read here, the grief and loss caused by this is terrible, and maybe now is a good time to put up some experiences here, and put the focus on the worst villians of all - wt policymakers..

My daughter knows exactly how I feel about the Watchtower Society. I have written her and shown her the facts. She said she and her husband are not leaving but they will not shun me as long as I don't bash the Watchtower Society. She acknowledges the fact that this goes against the Society's doctrine. I live in constant fear that she will change her mind. This makes me so anxious and depressed. When I do get to see her and talk to her, I am an emotional wreck.
She shunned me for about 2 months and it was unbearable. I have woken up at night, crying in my sleep over it. I have a 4 year old grandson I will lose also.
I hate the Watchtower Society over their teaching that anyone who doesn't agree with everything they say is an apostate and thereby deserving of shunning and ultimately death.
They are the ones who should be outed, not us.

This thread is for people that do not really understand the control mechanisms of the Watchtower Society
by Iamallcool inplease feel free to explain the control mechanisms of the watchtower society.
thank you!.

They do not allow you to read or listen to any critism of the Watchtower Society. You are to believe and follow everything they say down to the last detail. That way they can control your behavior, the information you recieve, your thoughts and your emotions.
They tell you how you should think, feel, behave and react. This goes wide and it goes deep-Who you marry to how you dress/How you groom yourself and whether you drive a 2 door or 4 door car (4 door is better for field service; no field service minded JW would drive a 2 door).

whathappened
24 years ago, when my marriage was falling apart, I would constantly pray to Jehovah for help and guidance. I had been taught two things from the platform at the Kingdom Hall about prayer: Pray for anything that is in accordance with God's will and he will help you and that sometimes the answer is no.
No help arrived, so I filed for divorce. So much for that. I never prayed again and am now an atheist. If God does exist, he let me go on purpose for not helping me when I asked for something he could have easily done and that was in accordance with his will. But he is not there so I waited on his help for a long time, suffering along in a truly miserable marriage. Thank you Jehovah's Witnesses!

You know the prhase "God works in mysterious ways?" I got to thinking the reason we think that is because God doesn't work at all, he is not there.
People invented him to explain the unexplainable, that is it in a nutshell.
