don't really post here much, mostly just lurk around.
so here's just backstory: in 2012, after about half a year of research i decided to leave the organization.
We have several members of our family that just quit cold turkey two plus years ago. The rumor has it that we are apostate. they have left us alone and are afraid of us.
I will never give them the dignity of a letter or a JC meeting, they do not have my respect anymore than the priest at the local Catholic Church has. They are mid level cult leaders, after all.
i just looked at the september issue of the km and they are proud to admit that the attendance in the united states for the memorial, on march 26, was 2,504,114 for 2013. that is about 2,000 more than last year.
looks like things are slowing down rapidly.
i know that there was not a big increase last year from the year before and it was speculated that it was becuase it was on a weekday.
Whatever they are doing it's not working, they are stagnant and the glory days are over for the Watchtower Society.
i remember when i was a "devout" jws i could not wait to get the new watchtowers and awakes from the wednesday nite theocratic ministry school.
i would actually salivate thinking of the new information jehovah had in the magazines for us.
i was "franatical" and i would go home still in my three piece suit and devour the magazines that very nite.
Why not pm her and ask the lovely lady yourself?
the issue july 15th 2013 changes the understanding of the fds dramatically, and it was broiught out here and on other places this creates numerous problems.. here is another one:.
jesus is supposed to be the head of the congregation.
when something goes wrong, he is often portrayed as the one having control over his congregation and also that in time he will act, clean the congo and direct elders (being the stars in his hand).

personally, i respect that everyone has choices to believe whatever they want to believe.
i have no interest in joining another religion....what about you?.
I am a full blown Atheist, after leaving the Watchtower organization just 2 1/2 years ago.
so i had a conversation with a jw whom i communicate with via skype...the conversation went like this:.
kool jo: hey there, how have you been keeping?.
they're imperfect, but we need to obey them regardless.. kool jo: ok, i see.
This brother has probably heard of others who have researched the Watchtower Society's past and have left and he is in full zombie mode.
the committee assigned to build the new complex was called into a meeting with the governing body.
they were told " you finish this project by january 1 2017. we want the keys to the complex and will be headquartered there by that date, do you understand?".
when the brothers protested and said that it would take 6 years for the project to be complete and if they moved that fast there would be many mistakes, the gb responded, "we don't care, that is your deadline".
They better get to work. The GB better role up their sleeves and start helping lay the brick. Anyone see that happening? (I bet they never have to vaccuum the Kingdom Hall.)
i was an elder until march 2012 until i resigned.
i then stopped going to meetings in october 2012 and have enjoyed 9 months of freedom that i have found to be jouful!
i loved learning ttatt and sites like this and jwfacts.com have been excellent.. i told the elders that i needed a break and that they should not contact me unless it was a social visit and true to their word they have done that.
You will be labeled an apostate if you ask the wrong questions, my friend. You have to put your family first here. If you don't want to be DF'd for apostacy you must keep quiet for the time being so that your family can remain intact. This will be the noble thing to do for your wife and children and I encourage you to just remain inactive.

Really good thread, I am glad some one resurrected this one as it is good for new JWN members to read.
i think my mother has lost it.
i really do and i am in fear that she is literally losing touch with reality to some degree.. even my father is telling me that her responses to me are growing weirded:.
the scriptures tell us that we can be wrathful.......but don't sin.
She needs some time away from this problem. She is one that would drink the Kool-Aid for sure.
