after being out of the borg for a year and a half, weve dealt with a lot of nonsense from local elders stopping by unannounced, well-meaning do-gooders trying to encourage us.
somehow weve managed to get through this without getting dfd/dad.
for me the worst part of it all has been that much of my family has shunned me, and stopped talking to me, as soon as they heard through the grapevine that i wasnt going to meetings.
We were able to get the majority of our family out by showing them what the Watchtower publications said in the Finished Mystery book and older Watchtowers.
My daughter is still in but refuses to shun me and her husband is allowing this.
My nephew only maintains a yearly or semi annual check in with his mother, who left just before I did. He completely shuns me.
I still care about a couple of people who were friends, but they won't have anything to do with me. It is their loss, I feel.
i know it's kind of weird asking where i can find a kh in london.
i would love to stay away from them all together, but i told my mother i would take her to one meeting when we are in europe in december.
if anyone has the address and meeting times for tuesdays and sundays that would be great.

Yes, my nephew who is at Bethel says it will be very soon and that we are very very deep into the last days. Spread the word!!!!
hi all, so i am getting married next year and just looking for some advice.. i left the jw's about 10 years ago now and i am marrying a non jw (who is also a scientist) next year.
my family are all still active and my brother has even agreed to be my best man.
there hasn't really been many issues apart from my mum taking it upon herself to tell everyone early that they do not do toasts.
You may want to mention that if they aren't paying for the reception that they really don't have a say. (Do so in the kindliest way you can, of course.)
It was an issue at my daughters wedding. Someone forgot to tell the DJ and he stopped the music to offer a toast and was floored when he heard that we don't do toasts. That's why Witnesses are better know for what the DON'T do than for what the Do.

7. i'm a whovian.. 8. if i had to pick only one favorite book, it would be archie and mehitabel.. 9. i have an inappropriate sense of humor and i'm kind of proud of that.. 10. my goal is to live forever on a paradise earth.

hi-- for those of you who struggle with bipolar & depression, just wanted to share my experiences.
i had a major manic episode last month and spent a week in a phsyciatric hospital, what an experience that was!
not fun.
I have family members who suffer from bipolar disorder. It can take over your life and make a mess of it very quickly. Wish there was an easy answer for these problems.

I was baptised in 1971 and yes, we were all telling our Bible studies that 1975 was going to be the end.
Do not believe anyone who denies it. There are those of us who were there and very actice and believe the whole big false prophecy at the time.

Welcome and don't worry. You are young and can build a new life for yourself. These people who shun you love the cult life and there is nothing you can do for them. You can go out and live a happy life and show them that the Watchtower is wrong when they say that those who leave fall into a life of debauchory.
