  i don't understand why so many ex jws and faders think that the jws will continue to grow and thrive as a religion.

  i still attend a meeting once a week and you can smell the death of the religion creeping up when you hear the talks, read the study wts and hear the letters from the gb.

  the way the organization has changed is a sign that it reached its peak (in "healthy" membership) long ago.

  Remember what is most important to the Watchtower Society is "unity." They must have everyone unified in the same beliefs, the same rules, the same treatment. If they allow blood transfusions, then the ones who would have proudly and gladly died refusing blood transfusions will be stumbled. If they stop shunning, some will say, well I shunned my own child for 30 years and now you tell me it's OK to see them...then they will be stumbled. If they don't constantly have "new light" people will stop believing the Society has any "inside" connections with God, and so on and so on. They can't do much to save this mess they have gotten themselves into with their "teachings unique to Jehovah's Witnesses" that ALL MUST profess belief in.

  A lie just gets messier and messier the longer it goes on and the more people start questioning it.

  The Watchtower organisation is in serious trouble if you ask me. They cannot win for losing.

  My sister and I left in our late 50's after being raised in. What a dramatic and sudden shift this was. It will be repeated thousands of times over until there is no one left but the try hard/die hards.

  so my wife and my parents are at their convention today.

  this will be the first time in my life that i will not have seen a drama or baptism.

  i will miss the public address, i will not see many of my lifelong friends that i have moved away from.

  You are between a rock and a hard place. Unfortunately, people you love are going to be hurt. Just keep telling them you love them and hopefully you can get them out of the cult in time also.

  transhuman mentioned that someone on the board suffers from thread envy.. are you jealous of other posters who just seem to be able to generate responses to their threads?.

  Some threads get hijacked and end up talking about a completely different subject from what the original poster was talking about. It can be frustrating when you want to see responses to the original post, but then the thread ose off in a different direction.

  i use to hate when people who made goodbye posts on message boards.

  why would they think that just because you no longer post on a chevy truck forum or a los angeles lakers forum the world would crumble around those still left there.

  1975 end prediction

  does anyone have the article written by the wt saying that the end would come in 1975?.

  how did people back then come to this year?

  i need this information becuase i was told, this was never literally written by the wt in any publication.. thanks.

  I was there. Every decision we made in the late 60's and 70's was based on the certainty that Armageddon was coming in 1975. There was even a prediction from a scientist in the old blue book "The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life" that said that animal life would be dead by the year 1975 due to polution, man's ruining the earth. The song "Chrytal Blue Persuasion" was written about the "Truth Book." That is what we called it. Anyone who was a JW in the late 60's & 70's knows what they were teaching. It was in all assembly parts and taught from the platform. If you didn't believe, you were considered spiritually weak or apostate. Later, the society denied they ever taught it. Many, many people left as a result.

  In Reading Over My DA Letter Of 9 Years Ago, This morning...

  this morning after coffee, in reading over my da letter from jehovah's witnesses which i posted publicly on the net, (june 2nd, 2005 exactly nine [9] years this day), i noticed something interesting, something that i said about the "wine of her fornication" [rev.

  14:8; 17:2; 18:3] that could be given even greater attention to today, more so than when i wrote about it back then.
