The elders called on my nephew about two weeks ago because he hasn't been to meetings in the past 3 years. He told them he couldn't come back because he didn't want to go door to door and have to explain about the generation teaching, which he doesn't understand. They told him the preaching work was coming to and end, they are not focusing on it much anymore. They said the end is so close, the "door is closing" and they were just instructed to try to reach out to the inactive ones...WOW!!! What BS!!!

National newspaper interview with JW's using the JW.org trolley
by Gorbatchov ina dutch national newspaper (trouw) published an interview with some jw's using the jw.org trolley near the trainstation of utrecht.. the local coordinator of the trolley work acknowledged that many witness are not enthusiastic about preaching.
it's a wide spread rumor in our organization.. but the witness elders will remind them personally that preaching is nessasery.
then there is an question asked about the witness selection procedure for the trolley work.. the good looking pioneer sister answered she can imagine the need for selection because nobody would take a book from an old age leaning forward woman without teeth.. g..

My frist email letter from my JW Dad. So sad...
by suavojr ini am in my early 30s and woke up to ttatt in late 2012. my dad just turned 65 in june!
wow, i never saw that being possible.. .
he just got himself a computer and was able to get internet in a remote location where he is serving as an elder with my mom (where the need is great) i was happy to see how he was able to send me a few notes saying hi and i was able to share some pictures of my wife and family, etc.. .

We are an Evil Aposta-Family

it is incredible to me to see how our so called friends have dropped us like we were a snake covered in spiders.
we actually havent really said anything to anybody about why we stopped.

Yes, we are being shunned for having quit cold turkey also. There mouths drop open in panic when they see me at the store. They act like they didn't see me. So funny. I have lost all my friends from the first 57 years of my life. Your kids are the "lucky" ones. You have done the right thing by not continueing to raise them in a hateful cult.

The Bible Teach book illustration about the child having to be put through a painful operation

now you're here... there are several problems with that illustration, as i see it.. ..... 1) god is the one who inflicted the life threatening ailment that requires an operation.
(he supposedly decided what sin would be defined as, then once adam 'sinned', he cursed all of adams descendants to sin, grow old and die.).

I love your post and am on my way to have dinner with my ex JW sister and will share your perceptions with her.
This reminds me of the illustation about the alcoholic who wouldn't be allowed by his doctor to take alcohol intraveinously so that blood transfusions are the same thing. It doesn't make any sense because a doctor would give an alcoholic alcohol intraveinously if it would save the alcoholic's life.
The other illustraion is about miracles. The Watctower says years ago, people wouldn't have believed that jet planes could transport us so far so fast and compared that to miracles that happened in the Bible. Lousy logic the Watchtower uses. It all needs to be trashed.

Ready to step my apostate game up...
by Joliette injust dont know when i'm gonna be able to do that.. right now, i am working full time, i go to school part time, etc.
i want to start traveling more, doing more activist work, visiting more apostate friends, and helping to get people out of this 'so called religion.'.
in other words, i want to start going to un-preach where the need is great.

Several years back, the circuit overseer actually ordered a congregation to use sisters to pass the microphonbe in order to shame the brothers in the hall who were not stepping up and getting higher hours in field service. They also had a female accounts servant due to the lack of "spiritually qualified" brothers. We old timers were shocked and it didn't last long.
