I tore up my blood card several months ago when I happened upon it in my wallet. I was thankful that nothing happened to me and I didn't sacrifice my life for nothing. Reading the JWfacts page about blood really convinced me to let go of the last doubt about "eating" blood that was left inside me. Thanks, JWFacts.

No more blood card
by lostinthought inwhat a day!
first of all one of my electronic devises broke so the store said they would replace it i just needed to show id, i removed my license from my wallet and saw my blood card staring me in the face i couldn't stand looking at it so i took it and crumpled it up and threw it away, upon leaving the store i had a car accident it the parking lot, nobody was terribly injured but it was my fault so i feel bad...but i also feel elated that i tore up the card, what if i had a really bad accident and i needed blood?
what could have happened to me?

Worldwide Church of God collapse
by cog_survivor inon my introduction post a few people expressed interest in how the worldwide church of god (wwcg) imploded.
i think maybe in hopes something similar will happen with the jws.
i think the jws will also eventually experience a meltdown but probably not in the same way since the power structure was a bit different.

This site shows Armstrong claims he was never a JW. My mom said he was, I remember quite clearly, when I was a little girl about 50 plus years ago.

I told my daughter I was leaving "the truth" this weekend.
by whathappened inlast week, i told you i was going to tell my daughter that i was leaving the truth this weekend and you all gave me sound advice.
but, i cannot keep a secret this heavy from the person i love most on this earth, my only daughter, who is beautiful inside and out.. well, i have always had an open and honest relationship with my daughter, and i guess it paid off.
this weekend i visited my daughter (who lives in another state) and i told her i was leaving "the truth.

Mercedes_29, my own mother who was baptised in 1956 told my sister and I when we asked her if she would never shun us. She said "of course not, you are my daughters."
My daughter said almost the same thing when I told her I live in constant fear that she will change her mind and shun me. She said in a raised voice, "oh no, never...you are my mother."
She did tell me that she cried at every meeting for about 3 months after I told her I was quitting and why. I don't know if it was because in her heart she knows it's all bs or because she thinks I'm going to die at Armageddon. I think it's that she knows in her heart that it's all bs. If she really thought her beloved mother and aunt were going to die at Armageddon, she would try to reason with us to get us to return to the congregation/organisation. (I think she's staying in for the fellowship and because she loves to wear pretty dresses and high heels. She's a very pretty woman. )

Finding A Brother to Take Special Interest in a Teen May Have Backfired
by OnTheWayOut inso my sister-in-law got reinstated a few years back, after more than 15 years out.
i thought it was so that her mother could get baptized and not have to worry about shunning her.

Going to Bethel may be just what he needs. He will see all the cultlike activities and it may wake him up. I know many brothers who went to Bethel and are now out of the org. I know one sister who is very hurt by being turned out after years and years of service at Bethel. She was given a pink slip and had to go home and find a real job. A very eye opening experience.
I hope your nephew doesn't get called, of course. Hopefully he will come to his senses before that.
