Prayer with my son before lunch. Your advice / experiences needed!

You are a full grown man and you are this little boys father. You responsible for bringing him up. Do not abdicate this responsibility to cult followers. Tactfully and lovingly let your parents know that the indoctrination is not something you will passively permit. The boy should be your number one concern. He needs a father who will look out for him and protect him throughout his childhood. Be that father for him.

Tell your parents you love them dearly and treasure the time you spend with them. Tell them that you are taking full responsibility for seeing that your son grows up to be a good man that believes you can be good without god.

How To Revoke Durable Power of Attorney "Blood Card"

wife doesn't want to ask elders for her dpa blood card, but wants it nullified legally.

what is the best way to do this?.

I would contact my doctor and the local hospital to have them remove the no blood request from my file. Destroying the blood card was one of the first things I did.

Stress on young ones

i had a horrible conversation with my 14 year old last night which i regret.

im still in but doubting more and more every day.. she is recently baptized.

she is outgoing and gorgeous and make friends easily, although not so much with the sisters in our hall, who pick her up and drop her again regularly , leaving her out of parties etc but then bringing her back into the circle, dropping her again...and so on.

I deeply regret raising my daughter a JW. She is still in, I am out. I see her slaving for this cult and it makes me I'll. Think about her future. If she marries a JW, she could find herself stuck!

Scientology and JW's

ok, i just signed up for hbo now and after binge watching entourage and game of thrones, i clicked on going clear, which is an expose of l. ron hubbard and scientology.

i was mortified at the similarities of that cult and the witnesses.

I don't get HBO so I cannot see that expose, but I understand there are some good documentaries on YouTube about Scientology. I hear there is also a good documentary on the Westboro Baptist Church that is also similar to JWs.

Glad you liked it, I heard from others it is really good.

Trapped.

as i write this,im aware of my heart hammering in my chest.ok where shall i start,ill try to keep this as short as possible.ive never been religious before in my life,the occasional wedding or funeral was the only time ive been in a church or viewed a bibles cover.in 2013 my step-dad was diagnosed with cancer and had to go for an operation to remove the tumor.i became close to his nephew and we communicated a lot and had a few strong feelings for each other,but neither of us told anyone,it was just harmless flirting and a few hugs that lasted a bit longer than normal.two days after my dads operation,he died through complications,and my path of self destruct was set.my boss had also been sexually harassing me at work and i was unfairly dismissed and was told by my landlord that i was to pay the rent or be evicted.then out of the blue my cousin tells me he was an unbaptised publisher (he was baptised at the aug convention last year)and to start having faith in god,that it would all work out.so i went to a kh and took up a study.that was a year ago and they now feel im ready to become a publisher.the thing is..i was made homless and am living with a jw of 50 years,a real spiritual person.these last two months ive been researching and i simply like you all disagree with so much of it.for the past twi weeks ive avoided meetings because of work,or pretended im at work and stayed away from the home i have with this witness.i cant afford to leave but at same time im being pushed to go into ministry and meetings.guys what the hell am i going to do?im so trapped scared and i cant believe i wanted to get baptised!

I saw it and thought it was interesting and the acting was supoerb. They only mention he was a JW in passing, kind of in the background...but good just the same.

due to the fact there are about 27,000 members of this religion that are known pedophiles, and the information about it is kept in a secret database file, i wonder how many lurking jw's as well as others are aware of the severity of this problem?

remember, it's 27,000 pedophiles that they know about.

My very own uncle, while serving as an elder in my congregation, tried to rape a young 16 year old female close family member. The girl's mother took him before the elders where he said he was sorry...and that was it. He remained an elder until he died some 30 years later. His wife had no trouble believing this young woman's story and was told not to talk about it. None of us ever mentioned it at all. It was swept under the rug.

Disowning the God of the OT is not an Option

it's to their credit that many modern christians prefer the jesus of the gospels to the god of the old testament.. ot god is an embarrassment.

i am not going to list his multitude of moral crimes here but my personal favourite is his brilliant idea that a girl who is raped must marry her rapist.

it's not his biggest crime but it demonstrates a disregard for human feelings that is beyond the comprehension of every moral person.

This thread is why I don't start new topics on here unless it is an emergency situation. People are always bickering back and forth and hi jacking a perfectly good thread.

To get back to the original topic, we all know that Jesus said that he and the father were "one" and that they were "in union" with each other. Jesus is the "exact representation" of his father. We all know where he stands now, don't we. So Disowning the God of the Old Testament is NOT an option. Yes, that is correct.

Conversation with my mother-in-law this morning

i am skipping the details on how we got to this point.

conversation was calmed and pleasant and while i know she is not the most educated person (she can hardly read), its hard to justify it by saying is a matter of ignorance.

it is definitely something inside her that triggers on that very moment.. me: i don't know where all the money is going.
