  About the Adam and Eve time gap....

  what's got me a bit befuddled is this.... when eve was created she was physically perfect right?

  and apparently god blessed them which counted as a marriage.

  so....that means that satan's deception of eve must have been almost immediate?....because being perfect she would have conceived virtually straight away, surely?

  The most logical explanation is that the Adam and Eve story is an imperfect myth about perfect people.

  At least that is what the science says.

  fading and need some support

  first i am an ex pioneer of 2-3years ago and an ex elder of 9 months ago stepping down 12 months ago and stopped commenting for about 11 months.

  prior to my enlightenment/awakening i was very active and an elder that spread the love to the congragation.. their has been very little shepparding by the elders witch im glad about, however 2 month goning on 3 i'v put 0 hours in service and reported 0. the memorial is comming up.

  im expecting someone or sometwo to talk with me.

  I agree with some of the posters here, give excuses like burned out, tired, etc.

  Be sweet and kind, thank them for their concern and tell them you're working on it, and that they are right, you should do more.

  Smile, grin, and bear it, then move on.

  Slowly you will fall off their radar.

  I liked the phrase "Yeah, I've got some issues." Sufficiently vage that it could mean almost anything, and yet ominous enough that no one really wants to pry.

  It is indeed a contradiction. I love the way bible lovers torture the words of Jesus trying to reconcile two opposite thoughts so that they mean the same thing. Ain't it grand!!!

  Here is another major contradiciton for me: There are two genealogies listed for Jesus, both through Joseph.

  Are you a fader, Df'd, DA'd, or Still In?

  i thought this would be an interesting poll that would show everyone the backgrounds of all of us when we left, if we have.. for myself, i am not df'd, but i am attempting a fade.

  i still go to some meetings with the wife to help with kids, but that's it.

  no commenting or field service.. what about everyone else?.

  Faded....I did the slow, very slow fade before I had gathered enough information to know for a fact that this religion is not worth the effort.

  I have moved to a new city since then, and there is no record of where I am now. I live my life as I choose (to a certain extent). My new girlfriend is also an ex-JW, and she is still mentally divorcing herself from the cult. They do call on her, from time to time. but nobody knows who I am there. I'm just some guy.

  If they do find me, and if they do come after me, I am not sure what I would do. I would likely try to have my judicial committee meeting in the foyer of the hall after a meeting. Being judged by the city gates, just like in ancient Israel.

  this can't be debated.

  i would say i'm the kind of guy who lives a quiet, unassuming life.

  Oh, it gets worse.

  In the bible, some kids were making fun of a prophet, and called him baldy.

  God was enraged, and sent a couple of bears that ended up killing 42 of the kids.

  Is the death penalty an appropriate response to name-calling?

  Is a god that executed the death penalty for such a triviality really the kind of god that you want to worship?

  Verifiable Former Bethelite Willing to Answer questions

  i am a former active poster here, former elder, former bethelite and pretty much known by people on the xjw boards since the mid 90's.

  gawd that makes me sound old.. i notice that a great deal of uproar is being made by allegations of a hide in the closet alleged bethelite.

  to counter the damage caused by this claim, i am happy to address any questions people may have about bethel, protocol, etc.. i was at the canada branch for 11 years, worked in multiple areas including the legal department, service desk and writing dept.

  I do have a question.

  I heard on one of these boards that the Hospital Liason Committee is basically just goes through the motions here in Canada when it comes to blood transfusions. They know that they are going to lose when it goes to court, they know that it will go to court, and they know that a transfusion will be given.

  It is a dance they do just to make the brothers feel like they are doing something, when they are really doing nothing.

  Is this an accurate characterization?

  A question on the genetic difference between human/chimps compared to that between other related animals

  i have a question on evolution i have been pondering.

  is there a good measure of the genetic difference between human/chimpanzees that make it possible to compare "evolutionary gap" between humans and chimps to that between eg.

  different kinds of fruit-flies, dogs breeds (or dogs-wolves, etc.)?

  There is also the ability to make Vitamin C, which is done by most of the mammals alive, except primates and ginea pigs. But there is a different mechanism for those that are not closely related to humans.
