JW Children in Meetings
by blue_summmer20 inhi my first post.. for the people that grew up in the religon, do you have any memory of being spanked for not sitting still in the meeting?
i see kids acting like kids but the parents take them out and spank them for something like not sitting still.
some of my worst memories are my father taking me out for a beating with a belt or his hand.

I'm of the opinion that this is a strictly regional thing these days. I've never seen a kid spanked at the Kingdom Hall I go to, not for almost 10 years. I think if it did happen, people would be offended.
I grew up in a rural area where more people endorsed this style of discipline, in which case it happened frequently. I was sometimes a victim of it, but my mom usually just pinched us on the arm or something. She didn't want to cause a scene. I would not say I was "abused" growing up.
I remember those "bloody murder" screams from kids getting taken in the back. I remember everyone laughing one time when a boy said, "Ohhhh...Jehooovah," while being carried to the back by his father. Terrible.

i am a regular pioneer in my cong reading crisis of conscience.here goes...
by MsGrowingGirl20 ini'm on page 90 right now...the info is definitely new and gives me a totally diff view as to how i used to think of faithful and discreet slave.
i was thoroughly disgusted with the way the brothers handled the oral sex and leadership problem and the insight on the scriptures book...... still have alot of questions though.

what is the history of this site?
by tornapart inhi, i just wanted to know as i came here believing it is an 'anti-jw' site.
or at least one where former jws can meet together (or ones struggling within the wt).
yet looking at some early posts it seems it was originally for active jws.
