Konceptual99, I made that exact comment to a householder who had cornered me using my own bible at the door. I told him I would return with answers to his questions but he insisted that I only use the bible. He predicted correctly that I wouldn't return...obviously I listed him as an apostate. 15 years later I still remember his name and address. I have often thought of knocking on his door and thanking him for contributing to my awakening.

Trolley cart "witnessing" is getting ridiculous
by oppostate ini really fail to see how much actual "witnessing" is occurring with the trolley carts.publishers, usually pioneers, just stand or sit there not engaging anyone and count their time.. the only thing i notice that it's accomplishing is brand exposure for jw.0rg so the public is exposed to the logo and literature/poster card headlines.. take for example this "evening" witnessing by a pioneer elder while on summer holiday/vacation.. .
is this not a wth kinda moment when you consider the years of slaving, knocking on doors, business territory and bible studies we had to keep performing so we weren't branded a "weak" publisher?.

I was at the Just for laughs festival in Montreal and there was a cart at the gate where Ste Catherine street was closed to traffic to allow street performances and vendors. The 3 JW stood up and watched people ignore them. I have not been living in this city for almost 20 years but I recognized one of the witnesses and he recognized me right away even with my "vacation beard". He said he loved doing this work and that he was going to regular pioneer come September. He's an apartment building superintendent and now he can spend a few hours a day by a cart to make his pioneer hours. Preaching is not as it used to be.... -

Yes. So amongst the millions who attended the memorial of Christ's death only a handful (approximately 11000) actually eat and drink while others watch. The WT has long professed the number of anointed participants would decrease as we neared the end but the number has grown...you should ask your JW teacher why?

There was a great demonstration of the Gear VR at the Samsung booth at the last Consumer Electronic Show and I took several press members through it. At first most said that they weren't very interested but as soon as I told them we could jump the long waiting queue they all tried it. You should have seen their reaction when the demonstration started. ...big smiles and looking all around. The demo was a boat ride in white water rapids and after they were surfing in Hawaii. The seats were moving and shaking which added to the experience. Everyone who tried it were really impressed and admitted that it was way better than they expected. The key element is content and Occulus has quite a library. Some of the summer Olympics will be recorded in VR.

Is Knowing/Using The Name Of God Important?

seems to me that god made sure that both that his personal name does not appear therein and that no one would ever actually know it or learn even how to pronounce it.
he also made sure that his name (baring 3 hallelujahs in revelation) did not appear in the new testament.
