  Circuit Oversneer Says. . .

  "do you realize how much of a privelge it is to enjoy the visit of the circuit overseer?

  they are appointed by the governing body who in turn are apointed by jesus and holy spirit.

  so you have a great privilege when we visit your congregation, because it is the same thing as having jesus visit you.

  Circuit overseer Helmut Zoebel was instrumental in my leaving the cult. During one of his visits he made the following statements:

  Anything you hope for in life will happen...all you need to do is wait. A young person may be eager to drive a car. In time he will reach the age to get his drivers permit and drive. Likewise we may be eagerly waiting for the new system...be patient and the end of this old system will arrive! It's like on a car trip where you think your destination is just passed the next hill...but it isn't...so you keep on driving until you get there. WTF moment! If we wait long enough the only thing guaranteed to happen is that we all die!

  If repeated often enough, an inaccurate statement or a lie will eventually sound true. WTF moment had me ask myself where do I hear the same thing repeated over and over and over again? At the Kingdom Hall...ding ding ding we have a winner!

  I'm with you ADCMS...the WTS are the biggest hypocrites when they demand from the authorities the freedom of speech they deny their followers. That very freedom of speech allows them to trap more people in their cult.

  as you can see from the picture, in the kingdom hall there was a board with "publishers, books, booklets," etc... aparently for the entire congregation.

  not sure what the other line is, maybe it is a goal?.

  To add to Pete's comment there were black and red numbers to indicate in which activities the congregation did or didn't achieve their monthly objectives...I remember cutting each digit from large printed sheet provided by the society and pasting them on the board. In our hall the board was set on an easel stand at every Tuesday night meetings.

  mine was a gradual going away.

  but once it dawned on them, i think people were shocked that i left the religion i espoused from youth.. were people "in the truth" and "in the world" surprised by your departure?.

  I have no idea because after stopping going to the meetings suddenly no one contacted me! For a time my still active wife would say that so and so says hello. Now, nothing. I guess they don’t miss me that much and I don't either. As for my JW family, they live 6 hours away and believe my inactivity is linked to a midlife crisis and that one day I will return. I am going through a crisis...a crisis of conscience and sooner or later they will figure it out.

  Andre has a well paying union job in construction and he decided to leave it to volunteer for the construction of the new WTS headquarters. He sold his car so his wife can use half of the money so she and their 2 children can survive while he is away and he contributed the other half to the society...Jehovah greatly blessed Andre as he qualified to be an elder when he returned to his home congregation....Yearbook 2017

  most of it is same-old-same-old, with info here and there about the memorial.. somebody here might post the march km for all to see, i wont.. i just wanted to share the paragraph from page 2 q&a anticle: will you seize the opportunity?

  some friends familiar with wt gossip have told me that the decision to move out of ny was in part accelerated by the tragic events of 9/11.. my take on this is that decision to relocate was made a long time before, however they counter that a move was planned but not the total detachment that is occurring.. i wonder if anyone here has an opinion or information on this.. thanks.

  French Club in Las Vegas

  i learned of a french club in las vegas.

  they posted on facebook that they were meeting this morning at a french pastry shop/cafe.

  i have never attended one of their meetings, so i decided to go meet them at the cafe.. it was great!

  Tomorrow I'm flying out to Las Vegas to attend the CES and during the week I will go for lunch at mon ami Gabi in the Paris Hotel and then go to the pastry shop for a millefeuille and espresso. I've been there several times and it would be amazing if the Hotel staff spoke some French to add to the experience. I know that many Quebec people work in Vegas with Cirque du soleil and Celine Dion.
