The WT have no power itself. The WT is just a human expression, even if we send every trace of WT to burn into sun, the collective human nature will find another way to produce the same thing WT already does. So with or without it the result is the same, you just can do something about you. You just can free yourself from this human trait (fanaticism).

Today I just like to keep update with the JW world because I use it as a small scale model of the world. I like to make predictions of a system (JW world) I know very well and use this skill to extrapolate into the real world scale. The human nature its the same even in a closed system (JW) or in an open one (real world).

The JW world its an interesting interdependent three-head system: JW doctrines - GB - Rank&File. It's amazing to watch these three working in a clunky way.

I think the next step will be to change the literal 144,000 to a symbolic interpretation. They just can't ignore that anymore. I have some wild predictions too like the end of restriction of women to be MS, elders and even GB members. And I can see they starting a JW University (I know it sounds crazy... but I have a gut feeling about this). Because the world tends to people be very specialized and feminism are becoming very strong.

long time lurker, first time poster here finally looking to get some things off my chest.

i've always been a very curious person with tons of questions about everything, and i also care deeply particularly about societal issues like social injustice, racism, and homophobia.

that, coupled with how boneheaded all the elders in my congregation are (except for one), led me to ask even more questions that led me to find ttatt.. .

You have the recurrent type of personality of the so called "apostates".

We are very inquisitive and honest to find the facts, wherever they may lead.

As you may know by now every religion (and their dogmas/doctrines) is very illogical. I'm an atheist myself, actually I'm more further than that because I'm a nihilist.

But in an ultimate sense I think religion have some purpose to people who need some moral breaks.

Nature hates wasting and the organized religion would not exist if it have no purpose (even an unknown one in the game of survival).

The reality is we (the conscious/thinking class) are a minority (even in JW.org land or in the real world). The vast majority of thinking people have left JW.org by now because the easy access to online information so you can expect to find just brainless drones inside the Tower. You better not harbor any hope to "preach" TTATT.

Most people (maybe more than 80%) just NEED to be told of what to do and the only system that does such thing (micro management in personal life based on a mystical authority) in free countries is organized religion.

I recommend you first to try to fade away from JW.org, you don't have to confront anyone just try to leave quietly and luckly you will keep some friends from there. You don't have to fight against religion, just fight to keep it in the right place into your life. JW.org is a very bad taste religion but some others have some true artistic value and beauty (like catholicism, buddhism, hinduism, etc..), if your wife needs religion in her life maybe you can consider bring her to a more healthy one.

What Happened to the Religion I Left in 1995?

josh here, new to the board.

glad to know this site is here.. i would not be writing this if it were not 2014. i was a ministerial servant and regular pioneer who left the jehovahs witnesses back in 1995/96, around that time.

i left suddenly, didnt fade away, just left when something clicked one day in my head during the morning shower and made me realize this religion wasnt true.
