  i'm about halfway through and i think they're very engaging books.

  not sure about all the beliefs laid out in the books, but i still find them really interesting.

  Yes, that good reason might have to do with human greed. How many reports do we have of "rulers" hijacking food supplies destined for the people of their country, in order to sell it on the black market?

  Sometimes I think that God gets too much blame for the crap the humans do to each other.

  As far as belonging or not belonging to the "salvation club." The true question is not, "How come God does not save everyone?", but "why does God save any at all?" According to the Bible, we (the human race) and are all sinners. As sinners we cannot have intimate fellowship with God. Therefore, we must be banned from his presence. Total separation from God. Something that I cannot imagine, since God's common grace (ie. sunlight, rain, etc.) falls upon all, the saved and the unsaved.

  Just my two cents. I'm not looking for a debate, or a flame war.

  Just one point, and since I really didn't go through the other posts, I may be redundant, but what if a white Republican or say a Clarence Thomas or J.C. Watts had said this?

  Female Molesters

  driving home yesterday, i happened upon the tom leykis show.

  what caught my attention was that he spoke of a 43 year old woman that was convicted of molesting a 13 or 14 year old boy.

  she only got 6 months jail time, 10 years probation, and had to register as a level 1 sex offender (the lowest in that particular state).

  Let me say something. As the father of a 14 year old boy, I would not be high-fiving my son and telling him what a stud he is for banging a 23 year old school teacher. I would be just as p*$$ed off at that, than as if some pervert (male or female) violated my 10 year old daughter. Any adult that takes advantage of a child, be they male or female, does not deserve to see the light of another day on this earth!

  The fact is that kids today grow up much too fast. My kids know more about certain subjects than I did at their respective ages. One could say that is because I was raised JW and they are not, but I think for a JW I had a more cosmopolitan view of life than most of my JW contemporaries. However, I digress, my point is simply that I don't hold a double standard. A female predator is just a sculpable as a male preditor. I thank that a female predator is more culpable, since she is basically overriding the motronly instinct, and violating the child.

  I was reading all the post on the other thread with interest. I thought about posting this on that thread, but I didn't think that would be appropriate since the topic is slightly different. A talk show, not real life.

  Should Saddam Be Executed If Found Guilty?

  there is only so far you can go in inflicting just punishment upon an evil person.

  yet how evil is someone who has murdered one person in cold blood, compared to someone who is guilty of genocide?

  the crime of murder is heinous in itself, but does the fact that someone may be responsible for millions of deaths make the crime of multiple murder a million times worse than the person who kills only once?

  To eliminate all of this BS (which it obviously is) I think he should first be tried in an international court, that way jurisdiction is not an issue and there will be better international support for the outcome, whatever it is.

  Based on how the Euros fawn over a pre-war Iraq, and how much they hate America, I'm sure of the outcome of that international trial would be: innocent.

  sorry to beat a dead horse, but i need to confirm this.... just had email conversation with a friend who is going to the manchester convention this weekend.. made a joke about not buying sticky buns from the street vendors, being a mortal sin and all.. she replied, "what's wrong with buying from the vendors?

  we have been encouraged to buy from on-site concessions.
