Brazen conduct
by road to nowhere ini just noticed the clam illustration of "reject brazen conduct" a young man in service walking past 2 others drinking beer and playing cards.
i know elders who do both.

Matthew 6:1 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
I guess the Jobo corporation missed this. Well, they're not inspired(tm) or some other crap that gives them a free pass.
They do like to show off about how much better than you they are. I wouldn't pee in their ears if their brains were on fire.

"Do you believe that the 'faithful slave' is God's channel of communication?"
by The Fall Guy inif a jw had the nerve to ask me this question, i'd say to them, "you go first.
using only scriptural proof, show me why you believe that the wtbts/ccojw is god's choice and i'll tell you if i agree with your scriptural reasoning.".
wait for the silence and the rabbit in the headlights moment.. i searched on the wt cd rom for references of "channel of communication.".

If a JW had the nerve to ask me this question, I'd soil myself

Believers: How do you know your view of your chosen holy book is the correct one?
by punkofnice indon't start fighting, darlings.
i am genuinely curious.
after all i was a jobo 50 years and thought the wbt$ was 100% correct.. i ask this because i see that, for example, christian denominations (or whatever), likely have differing interpretations of the same writing.

Varied people have said to me that it's because I was raised a Jobo that they have as a result, turned me into a hard atheist. (I don't mean an atheist with a flick knife either).
Their point is that the corporation is so anit-christ that they have deliberately made it so that you can't leave the cult without total damage.
Maybe. Whatever. I just cannot see any compelling reason to be trapped in religion again. I don't believe there is a god given what I observe.
I believed in Jobo-ism because I trusted my parents choice. They meant well.

Who’s The Best Actor/Actress? Who Is Overrated??
by minimus inone of my favorite actors is robert de niro.
some of his later movies were so so but overall i think he was outstanding.
meryl streep, i just never thought she was anything exciting yet people say she’s the best actress of all time.

My thing is that I watch a show. I don't care who the actors are, I don't even know most of their names. I either enjoy the show or I don't.
It's entertainment, that's all. A charade. A game. I don't really care who these people are. They are no different to you or me. Nothing special. They'll die just like all of us.
Now, Doctors, Firemen, Nurse and the like are worthy. Pay these people more than sporting and acting types and perhaps we'll be somewhere near a better system.

Blubby - Why must everyone be identical?
Because they have the same god. Otherwise god is playing silly bees by appearing differently to people.

Stephy. There are benefits from having been a Jobo.
I was an elder(tm) in the Polish congregation and learned a lot of language and customs.
This came in handy after I left because I now have half Polish grandkids (not from the Jobo Polish either). I play music and write songs with a Polish young lady. She says that it was good I learned all that being a Jobo because she finds communication with me easy as a result. That, she says, is because I understand the language structure.
See through manipulative organizations and self deception (religions, employers, etc)
Valid point; although I now trust no one apart from close family and my best mate Mark the guitarist.

Hello E-person.
Anyway, the thing that pisses me off the most, is that they want us to just be inactive so they can keep talking to us.
I agree. They should talk to you whatever your religious or non religious choices are.
After all the watchtower corporation hides paedos in the congregations and the other jobos can still talk to them; scum of the earth
