Are you up for this challenge?
https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/270471/can-you-prove-jesus-existed-outside-bible-called-evidence
Give it a go!
also...
His heavenly Father freely made his Identity known!
Prove it with evidence, not some words in an old book.

Do any of you ex JW`s ever feel ashamed or embarrassed to admit you were once a JW? To your now friends / associates ?
by smiddy3 ini ask this now because i have been living in this town for the past 14 years and the circle of friends i have now i have never let on i am an ex jw.. i`m talking about 30-50 people at least.. not that the subject has ever really come up , but i think they would be shocked / amazed that i was a ( i hate this word ) a "devout" jw for 32 years going around knocking on peoples doors trying to convert them to the religion .. yet every now and again i get tempted to.. how say you ?.

I'm not bothered anymore. No one asks and I don't tell them.
That is unless they think I'm still a Jobo...I have to correct that. I don't want them thinking I'll be a twat all my life.

I find it interesting how a person of 'faith(tm)', usually has faith in the chosen deity of their culture. Ok, not always but mostly.
I see the Western world is smitten with the Jesus and God IE the 'Christian(tm)' thing. Certain countries are smitten with Allah and 'Islam(tm)'. Others, all kinds of other stuff. It seems that Christianity(tm) and Islam(tm) are the 2 biggies we see.
Faith(tm) (Which is the excuse people give when they have no proof of something), looks a bit geographical and cultural to me.
Why do you think I abstain?

Fawlty Towers (1975) & (1979) - still laugh-out-loud funny after all these years
by LoveUniHateExams inso, i went and bought series one and series two on second hand dvd for one pound each.. i first saw series one of fawlty towers when i was about 11, then i saw series two a year later.. it's a little dated now, but that doesn't really matter because it's still making people laugh.
that's all comedy is.. there is one episode - the kipper and the corpse - which i think is a bit rough around the edges, it's not as polished as some of the other episodes.
but it still has some great lines in it, e.g.. the two old ladies: you're in a good mood today, mr fawlty.. basil: yes, well one of the guests has just died.

Nothing wrong with a bit of Farty Owls.
Those that are trying to culturally engineer us into a weird brand of Communism will try to tear it down.
But then those in the extreme minority are joykillers by trade. The trouble is, the idiots in the media are bullied by it...or are they deliberately part of the problem? The tail wagging the dog.
simon I never realized how big a gap there was between the two series.
To think, series 1 happened at the date for Armageddon, too.

Nothing. We are born and we die. I don't want to die but I will. At that moment I will be in total oblivion.
I have found that as soon as one problem ends another one starts.
I don't honestly know why I bother. I hope for better but it never comes.
As Kenneth Williams stated in the last entry of his diary before suicide, 'Oh, what's the bloody point?'
I agree with him. I don't want to live like this but I don't want to die. I find the thought of death is not easy to ignore.

..why have you left the God and his son?
Of course I could be an old meanie and ask, 'which god and which son'?
when I left the jobos, I still believed in a 'Christian' god. Of course, how would I know if Vishnu, Allah or Odin wasn't the real god? The evidence is just the same....missing!!
I'm a little tired of all this god stuff. I will believe when there is sufficient actual evidence. If 'god' (whichever one), knew what would make me believe and hasn't, then either that god doesn't give a monkeys or doesn't exist.
So, for now, just because a good scam has worked on masses of people, doesn't mean that I'll fall for it anymore.
I agree with this......

The Animal Sentience Bill - what next?
by LoveUniHateExams inso, in the uk there was recently a bill which was nodded through parliament - the animal sentience bill - which was backed by vegan activists.. dogs, cats.
cows, even lobsters now have been recognised to have feelings.. first of all, let me say that if you want to go vegan that's fine with me.
we're all allowed our individual dietary choices.. but for how much longer?

Joke: Q. How do you know if someone is vegan?
A. Don't worry, they'll tell you.
I eat meat. As far as I'm concerned, if I was in the bush and an animal was hungry, they'd eat me alive. I don't think any of them would say, 'hey, don't eat Punky, he's a vegan!' So, I eat animals.
One of our school trips (this was the '70's after all), was to an abattoir. I do agree that animals should be treated better, but they wouldn't treat me better, so there is that!
I'm kidding.
Back to my steak!!

alanv - The governing body are here to stay I'm sure. They love all the attention they get
Pretty much how I see it.
They love the booze and rock star luxury. Like George Carlin said of Politicians, same for religious leaders - It's a big club...and you ain't in it!
