Couldn't possibly be the return of PimoElder could it?
As one door closes, another door opens. I wondered that myself TBH.
i’m still a good christian.
i still believe the bible.. i don’t like the wt society, but some of the people, as individuals are good.
there are many nasty jws also.. i have concerns about current events and how close the end actually is.

Welcome AnotherJohn. Like Simon mentioned, scriture vomiting or copy paste religious stuff is not welcome.
I tend to comment on Watchtower(tm) things and discuss those because I feel this forum is more about our ExJW experience, not giving our views on why we think we're right an no one else is. I don't argue Bible because it's an utter waste of time. Everyone has their thoughts, mine are mine alone.
Anyway, (anyways with an 's' on the end if you're American), the JW's are just a big corporation, after money and pretending to be a religion. They're not....just a big business providing booze for TOMO 3 and shelter for sexual predators of the worst kind.
this can be confusing because the wts has adjusted from not having a clergy class to not having a "paid" clergy class.. "a congregation of brothers precludes having a proud clergy class that honors itself with high-sounding titles and elevates itself above a laity" wt 6/1/2001 p. 12, pp 11. still same idea in 2021 wt october, p. 20, pp.
7, but 2022 in the wt publication, frequently asked questions about jehovah’s witnesses, page 13, the wts inserts "paid" in front of "clergy perhaps to shore up their current statement in secular courts they have clergy, just not paid) "following the model of first-century christianity, jehovah’s witnesses have no clergy-laity division.
all baptized witnesses are ordained ministers and share in the preaching and teaching work.
I'm sure that back in the 80's at least, here in the UK, Elders could use a 'clergy' loophole in order to avoid being 'called up' if there was a need for them to join the armed forces.
I'm sure, in any case, the drunken GovBod will use and not use 'clergy' type privileges for their own booze swilling ends.
What was that you said TOMO 3rd? Oh, it was you hiccupping. Better lay off the sauce, mate!
theres a couple of threads re: 1914 on the board right now and it got me thinking.. the jw doctrine of the 1914 generation is a key doctrine , yet it is probably the number one reason most have left over the decades.. 1975- within one generation.. 1995 - new understanding of the word generation.. 2010- overlapping generation first mentioned- some anointed survive armageddon.. 2015- infamous overlapping generations chart featuring david splane.. its obvious the org is changing the goalposts and constantly trying to squeeze as much time as they can before they have to abandon this altogether.
or will they come up with something new?.
does anyone else think this ever changing doctrine is responsible for the biggest loss of members?.
2010- overlapping generation first mentioned- some anointed survive Armageddon.
That was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. Not the only thing but up there with other nonsense that only a dangerous cult could play games with.
i was blown away when i found these watchtower records with rutherford on them.
these aren't the ones that were used door to door.
these are 16 inch records that were sent to radio stations to broadcast rutherford over the airwaves.
I have a CD with a load of Fudge Boozerford,s disgusting rants on. It's somewhere in the garage. Blowed if I'm going to listen to them. I've suffered enough at the hands of that vile cult.
i don't have the link but i am trying to post this, this is from a previous post on jwn.
watchtower bible and tract society of new york, inc. dear brothers:.. we received your letter of december 17 in which you inquire about handling a situation involving a brother who has been guilty of serious violation of the law in the past.. you explained that you received information indicating that this brother ?committed several murders and crimes before his baptism.
you ask if law obligates some action on our part.
We pray Jehovah's direction as you endeavor to fulfill your weighty responsibilities as shepherds of the flock. We send our warm Christian love.
In other words, shove off, we're not getting involved.
If he contributes money to Watchtower(tm), say nothing.
is it okey to express your love for jesus as a jehovah's witness?.
it should be, even though it would lift some eyebrows in the congregation.
let's see what jesus said:.
Not since the governing body elevated themselves to a position higher than Jesus.
I'd go with this.
Too much 'Jesus' talk in the JW ranks and suspicion will abound.
.......and we can't have the Congregation Gossip(tm) (usually an Elder's wife who gets all the latest from him), turning her attention to a 'Jesus' lover.
hi everyone i’m a pimo elder ex bethelite and pioneer who has been having doubts for many years.
as of late i’ve come to have even more doubts mainly due to the gb pushing the vaccines and acting like salesman for big pharma companies .
i will never take these vaccines even if it meant i couldn’t go to the hall as was previously said but the gb have done a big u turn on this now.
there are many of us PIMO.....
'many' seems like a weasel word here. then they are in for a crash.
there are some great people and really good associations for my kids. We are all like a big family.
One word and you can decide how good they are: SHUNNING.
but I still feel it’s the closest to the truth than any other.
Now I know you're trolling us. that's too stupid to even respond to with anything much.
Its more beneficial for me to stay PIMO than to leave the cong. I have all the advantages of being in the cong, without the disadvantages of being disappointed in years to come when Armageddon still doesn’t come
You are either in a dream world or trolling. I can't decide which.
i was a twenty y/old when i converted to the jw religion and was a problem drinker and i was a chain smoker .when i was baptized at a circuit assembly a year later , my conversion and change in lifestyle was given as an example of the effectiveness of incidental witnessing to the audience.. so i can point to the 2 positives becoming a jw .. 1.i gave up smoking.
2.i gave up drinking for a while ,but because i still had association with my wife`s and my family who were not jw`s ,i learnt to control my social drinking when i started again.. and i have been a responsible drinker ever since ,even though i left the religion 29 years ago.. the negative points of being a jw in my 32 years of being one ?
are far too great to list here .. love to hear your thoughts..
Jan.
I know. I go to Evensong most Sundays at Peterborough Cathedral. They installed a Canon this week so there was a few more than the usual bunch that I've got ton know.
I know Tamworth, it's quite a distance from here but you never know when I'll take you up on that.
what is the harm or downside of being pimo?.
i get all the good things about being in the cong, good social life lots of invites to bbqs and meals out.
lots of interesting gossip 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Sounds like a load of bollox to me.
