hebrews 6:4-8. for it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the holy spirit, 5 and have tasted the goodness of the word of god and the powers of the age to come, 6 and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the son of god to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.

7 for land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from god.

8 but if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned.. but then i read articles that say that you cannot lose your salvation and that this scripture isn't talking about that.. but then 2 timothy says.

it is not a new verse that starts anew, but a verse that ends the previous chapter, so what paul says to imitate is shown in the previous chapter.

If 500 theologians sat and discussed this, you'd get differing interpretations.

Far be it from me, a lowly non theologian to interpret these words. So, I won't.

If you had 500 theologians discussing this, lots of them would disagree on their interpretation.

This is why I find discussion of these things a bit pointless.

We all think differently. We may say, 'There's either something after death or there isn't.'

DFbro - I was an elder(tm), and I can assure you, that after what I experienced, the Watchtower Corporation(tm) is not a bona fide religion.

Perhaps it started out with religious intentions but it is now nothing more than a big business posing as a religion. It is fake.

The Corporation(tm)....and that title should give it away, only exists to give the parasites at the top a lifestyle.

Look at the CEO's of the Corporation(tm), the governing Body(tm)(Pee be upon them), I do believe they're only in it for the rock star life style they achieve by duping all the JWs around the world.

Oh, well. DFBro got that of his chest. There is a lot of pain caused by the ungodly rules of the Watchtower Corporation(tm). Until you come to realise that it isn't a real religion and that it is a big money grabbing business, a fake religion, it's hard to reconcile why they do these unChristian things.

I agree, too long to read all of it, really.

a pet peeve of mine

putting this under "friends" because i couldn't figure out where to put it.

it is very often on here and in ex jw videos, ect that people like to undermine some of those who once we would have called friends.

there seems to be a view that window washers, plumbers, cleaners, construction workers are somehow less intelligent than those who may be college educated.

Of course, that the Bible mentions unicorns, may not be referring to the wee beastie above.

It's a bit speculative, based on what we know currently.

i believe this list which many of us worked on needs to see the light of day again...and added to if possible.. you know you are in the wrong religion:1. when the all important question is not: "do you believe in the lord jesus christ?"....but....

when you will be refused baptism if: a. you don't believe jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bc (whereas all non-jw scholars, all encyclopedias and all history books say this event took place in 587 bc.)b.

any opinions are just speculation, but my guess, being morbid, is that there was not a hull breach and implosion (although that would have been the most merciful fate for them), but instead the amateur level of building this thing meant that it lost power and communication and got itself tangled in the titanic's wreckage or is sitting on the actual seabed with no way to release ballast to resurface.
