  BB - Richard Jessup , yes I first knew him years ago when he was just learning the C/0 role and again many years later as an older man in a congregation having finished the travelling work. He was always terribly awfully British in his manner with an attitude above the rest of us. You could not warm to him

  Yes, I know what you mean. His Missus, Hazel popped her clogs not so long ago. Weirdly, my Dad got on really well with Richard. It was RJ that put my Dad forward to do C/O work, but then Dad got the big C and had to retire from being PO too.

  I became an Elder when he was PO of the congo-a-bongo I was in. I remember when he fell ill to the big C. He gave up on treatment and succumbed to it.

  It was quite sad to see him sitting in the 2nd school on his own doubled up holding his belly. For that reason, I give him a pass. It was so sad.

  I really didn't know what to make of RJ. Friend or foe? I never found out.

  God! I'm so sick of hearing about the big C everywhere!!

  I'd heard some Presland talks on 'cassette' and when I saw him, his voice didn't match his face somehow. Although, in those days, I enjoyed his manner of delivery. Later, some Jobots told me he was not a nice chap. I never met him to find out.

  The Last Days?

  today's issue of time magazine bears the front cover headline "the last days of the taliban".. the urgency of these "last days" is re-inforced in the magazine's articles by the use of words such as "final reckoning", "last sanctuary", "rule unraveled for good", "endgame".. words and phrases such as these may seem familiar to regular readers of the watchtower magazine which regularly describes the present time as being the "last days" of this "system of things".. interestingly time describes the "last days of the taliban" as occurring just two months after the commencement of the "time of the end" for the taliban.. i wonder how many witnesses will give this some thought as they consider the watchtower's latest declaration of urgency for the last days of this system of things.

  at what stage will these "last days" cease to be the last days?

  can they last 100 years?

  I was of the impression that most Christians, apart from looney Jobots, felt that the prophecy of the last days was about the fall of Jerusalem under the Romans. Whether a secondary fulfilment is expected or not depends on denomination...........or so I'm under the impression of.

  The 'Last days' seems to be interpreted differently between and even within the different sects of Christianity.

  Whatever the reality, the Watchtower(tm) will definitely be totally wrong!

  Is Bible chronology true?

  according to jw interpretation of bible chronology, the earliest human, adam, came into existence some 6,048 years ago compared to scientific dating of human fossils believed to be much older.

  since jesus validated the creation of adam and eve as historical people and jc’s own lineage is traced all the way back to adam, bible chronology is certified as true and there must be something wrong with scientific dating.

  what proves scientific dating as accurate that humans are much older than what bible chronology says?.

  im not an atheist, makes no mathematical sense, nor does the buy(more) bull(shit) god make any logical sense... maybe a deist on my best day, in the end you cannot get something from nothing, paradox if you ask me... but in reality i just dont care.

  while in, and moving out of the cult, its like a roller coaster, emotionally, yet, for me, over time, i just take it one day at a time, and if appeasing some special deity is required, well i guess i failed.
